My insurance is up for renewal at the end of the month and I was looking on-line for a quote.
I tried most of them and Liverpool Victoria looked the most promising. I declared that I have some mods on the car and got redirected to a page showing possible modifications. Among them was exhaust mods. LV have a chat session on their quote page so I asked what constituted exhaust mods. I was told anything that does not match the original system, even if you've bought a Kwik-Fit system for your car. So, my DTR system makes the car modified and if I don't declare it and have a shunt I would risk the insurance being made void.
If any of you have non Fiat systems it would be worthwhile checking this.
There was an article in MCN the other day (yeah I know it's a comic) that stated that some insurance companies are declaring bikes modified if they don't have the same make and model tyres as originally supplied. I don't know if they are likely to try to pull this stunt with cars. That would make the vast majority of cars on there second set of tyres uninsured I would think. Try getting hold of some Kleber tyres for your Renault at a reasonable price. No chance. I ditched the Pirelli p6000s from my b at 12k because they're crap.
