Tuning Barchetta induction

I'm a bit wary of turning this thread into another discussion, but since you asked:

I asked for the car to be tuned for drive-ability, not for outright power. I didn't put it on a rolling road (although I'd like to) so I don't know what I actually got.

All I can say is that even my Mrs remarked about how much better it was to drive afterwards.

Anyone know of a cheap rolling road near me?

Might not have as much time as I thought, my company may want me to contract back 2 or 3 days a week!!

ah, they are going to go that direction :)

do not accept anything less then 100 quid an hour ... or ... at least work it out that make at least as much in two day as you would be making before in a week or forthnight (depending on how eager they are)

Hi oldschool, what engine type are you looking for? Mine has the external airflow meter - I have time on my hands at the moment.....

Which is the earlier version. When can I see the car? I am free most days from Monday on and on Sunday is the rr/mapping day at Red Dot.

The later version most likely can use the Punto HGT kit with some minor modification. Who has got this one available.

My intake can be made again if you want for about £180 + your CDA filer box. The hard part like I said before is the battery needs moving out of the engine bay and that is a easy but long job.

GSR make a good intake system but you have to use the filter thats with the kit.

Mapping is on the cards but I have a load more mods first before getting it done.

I have been looking at Unichip piggyback system.

I would not get a unichip or should I say uni**** if you have the same engine and managment as a euro 3 HGT, you will see a pitiful gain if any.

Be interested to see if the result (after a proper rolling road run) is worth the effort/cost. Wonder if the small extra power is simply due to having the car set up properly by somebody who knows what they are doing and not much to do with mods?

I've found that modding an na engine is usually a complete waste of time/effort..but they do sound good afterwards!

Depends I think, a lot of modern engines (under 10 years old) are throttled from their true potential by the need to meet Euro sound/emission laws so simple mods often restore their full potential.

That said, I am dubious of the mod's that claim 10 bph rises out of high BHP engines through 'bolt on' ECU re-mapping etc, if you are going to get serious about BHP go to a specialist and spend some money!!
