Well my poor little B has died.

I unfortunately crashed it into a kerb and railings on a roundabout and now it's a total write-off. I managed to walk away with few cuts and bruises, which was lucky really. Had the car of rolled, i could well be dead.

My Fiat mechanic says it's gonna cost at least £3k to fix, which is well beyond economical repair.

The year and a half I had with the car was amazing, and I would consider another, but for now there's just no money in the pot.

Damage includes ripped sub frame, broken steering rack, broken drive shaft. The engine itself has moved a little. That's not to mention ruined alloy wheels and panel damage. There's more too, but I kind of clicked off when my mechanic was reeling it all off to me on the phone.

So poor little thing is sitting at my mechanics garage for time being, but it's looking like it's gonna be scrapped. I reckon I'll only be able to keep it there for a few days, and I have no where to store it so soon it'll be at the fiat garage in the sky.

Will post pics at some point of the remains. If anyone wants any bits off it and they're not mashed up, feel free to ask and make offer etc'.

Car was only TPFT so any cash I can get back will be nice. If anyone knows what bits that are worth a few quid that I could eBay and/or store until people want them.

Unfortunately these things happen.

DJ - that is really bad news, I am sorry for you but the positive is that you are still alive! There are a lot of well priced b's out there so save for a few months and bag a bargain over the winter............?

I take it there was a little 'enthusiastic driving' involved? ;)

just ebay the whole car, some one will buy it, especially as its un recorded

If I had a place to store it I would. That and it needs to be lifted every time I move it. I don't think I have the time to do it.

Will take me more than a few months I'd say!

Not going to comment on the accident details.

Sorry to hear about your car m8, that's bad news. Great news of course is that you walked away with no real injuries - like you say, it could have been different.

What colour was your B? Not green by any chance was it? I was just on my way downstairs to take a photo so I could make a post that I need some help tracking down a new offside wing mirror and the casing that holds the wingmirror (sorry can't think of the term)

you can have an ebay 1 day auction or 3 day as dont reckon garage will make you move it over the weekend, say it needs trailering away, worth a try imo

Cheers for advice guys,

Waiting on full damage report, and to hear from a couple of possible breakers 2moro about taking it.

Will need to try and work out what's a good price for it to go breakers. Anyone got any ball park figures I should expect?

Also do DTR buy wrecks?

The important thing is that you are ok.

Depending on the time scale, surely you should have asked this lot to descend en mass to devour the b for spares and then hold the auction there and then [less hourly rate - which given their knowledge it would be in individual pieces within the hour!]
