Re: Yet another heat shield thread

Yeah, I noticed - was just comparing the pics... It does however look like the dipsticks are in the same place - only that my bolt is further to the left It almost looks like I have a different manifold or something Do Alfa manifolds, or some different Fiat manifolds, fit on the B? If so, it might have been swapped - and hence I'll need to buy a different heat shield.

Re: Yet another heat shield thread

Cannot begin to think why your manifold should be different, the only thing I can come up with is maybe something to do with different emissions regulations in your country?? Hence a different set-up? but that's clutching at straws

Re: Yet another heat shield thread

It's a German import, so I very much doubt that Aren't there any Alfas/Lancias/Fiats that use the same engine as the B? (Punto HGT?) It might be worth checking them out

Re: Yet another heat shield thread

You probably polish yours more than LRB

Had a look at ePer, and it came up with two different manifolds. The first looks like the one you've got; the second one doesn't look like mine - at least I don't think so. It's missing the two bolts

Re: Yet another heat shield thread

OK - just measured mine and its about 17.5 cms between the holes..............

So, you sure that you don't have a 1.1 Fiesta engine with a Barchetta rocker cover!!!! lol

Re: Yet another heat shield thread

I went through a bunch of Fiats/Alfas/Lancias on ePer, but couldn't find a manifold that looked like mine (i.e. the bolt on the first and fourth pipe) - so I went out and removed the heat shield, and lo and behold - it looks like a B manifold - only, it looks like those two bolts have been welded onto the pipes (1&4 instead of 2&4 ), and the third one's missing . Mystery solved. And hopefully no Fiesta engine in it

So how about that heat shield LRB? You can tell the wife it's essential for your B
