Hi chaps,

I have spoken to this company Automobile Trimmings Co. about car rubber seals (eg hood rubbers), they may be able to help us but would need to see some samples of the rubbers. Also we would all need to club together to be able to purchase. They have minimum order quantities, but sounds promising.

I would need to know how many people would be interested and i also would need a old sample of rubbers for the hood (to send to the company). So does anyone have some old samples I could send them please?

Anyway please let me know.

Cheers.

I'd be keen as well - the rubbers round the boot area are beginning to split.......and the roof storage area has a permanent sponge to soak up water...

I'd be up for some.

I have to say that FIAT must have changed the design of these several times.

The ones I got from Dougal don't match up to the ones on my car. Mine is a 99 and the rubbers probably not changed since. I have used dougals and all is well but they are not the same design as my original ones.

Also, I bought two new ones recently from FIAT (frontmost rubber on drivers side and and passenger side) and they too seem to differ. I'll take pics to try and illustrate this next week. The new ones from FIAT seem to have more of a lip to them so that the glass buts up against the rubber and the lip also forms a seal on the outside of the glass.

Of the three designs, the most recent seems to be the best by far. I would be willing to send someone an example of this new rubber but I think it will have to wait until october unless it would be back with me in time for my trip to France next month.

As I said, I'll take pics as it's hard to describe otherwise.

If anyone else has recently bought new ones a pic would be good to compare the differences.

Jon

Hi,

Sorry I have been on my hols for a couple of weeks. OK the company I mentioned before cant help us. They basically they are unable to make these rubbers. They can only supply the rubbers on thier website, which are used for more car doors and windows were the rubber is the same shape all the way through.

So back to the drawing board. I will need some new rubbers soon.

Cheers.
