Well, I saw my first Barchetta a week ago and am now the proud owner of a 1999 Black B :D :D :D

I am told it is 1 of only 2 here in Bahrain and seeing as there is no Fiat dealer here I will be on the lookout for non Fiat parts that are used on the B.

If anyone knows any parts that Fiat steal from other cars I would love to be able to put together a list of what non dealer parts are available. If it's anything like the Lotus Elan I had here before the list was huge....

My first quest after looking closely at the soft top seals around the doors is to find a manufacturer that can suply it per the metre...

Thanks to the 11 1/2 months of sunshine here every year my seals are totaly trashed. Has anyone got an old seal or part of a seal that they have removed that they would be willing to donate or sell at a sensible price so that I can hack it up  so as to be able to send to seal manufacturers.

Over the coming months I will try to put together a list of parts and suppliers and get it posted on the net somewhere...

any help apreciated...

Another Idea....

Are there any interior / exterior trim parts etc that are no longer available that could be manufactured in either fibreglass or carbon fibre. ie B post caps (one of mine is broken), etc? that maybe manufactured cheaply from carbon fibre / glass fibre? especially if several sets were available...

If you get any seals made cheap, I'd buy from you ;)

Don't have any old bits of seal or whale lying about though...:D

I may have some seals that are going a begging. Need to fit the ones I have received and I'll let you know. However I should be able to send you a complete set of passenger side seals and two out of three of the drivers side. I have already hacked up one of the old drivers side seals:eek:

They are in poor (understatement) condition but might be helpful.

Wow Thanks Jon,

Anything would be great if there is enough of it left to get the correct profile...

Mine have only about 50% of the profile left the outside half is missing... and way too bad to use as a template. Also just looked at another thread Seems FixItAgainTom has already been in touch with some manufacturers and may need the seals too.

It may be easier for him to contact people i'm kinda along way from the UK. But would still love to get hold of at least one (or part of) a seal to see what I can come up with from this side.

Anything is better than paying FIAT prices.

While on the subject of alternate parts..... If anyone changes any parts...ie wheel bearings etc. would appreciate it if you have a quick peek at the part for any manufacturers names / numbers and post them on here... you don't know how much it would be appreciated by any one that have B's that do not have a Fiat dealer in the country.....

Cheers Bill, thats great news... there's a good SKF dealer here.

Don't suppose you have the SKF part numbers available do you?

I got a bit lost looking around their site...

Door Seals NEEDED

Hi guys!
I just bought a '98 Barchetta and I need new door seals or at least for the driver side. Anyone got some sugestions where to get them?

Thnx.

Following advice from the forum we fitted an Alfa Twin Spark sump when the Fiat sump grounded and cracked. Much eaiser to find as a used part and a straight swap, even though not identical.
