Tuning S/Steel Exhaust where to buy in Somerset

Hi,

I have a feeling my exhaust is not very well, making some strange sounds when I take my foot off the acelerator.

Whre can i bouy or order a stainless steel exhaust from please??

I live in Somerset, i dont really want to put on a cheapy exhaust (waste of money!!).

DTR in London make one. There are pics and a video on their site www.dtrsports.com

I would imagine they could send one out to your fitter.

You need to find out what part of the exhaust is giving you the problem first.
The barchetta has a downpipe front section, then the cat, followed by the middle box, then the back box section.

If it's rattling it's probably the tin covers and not the exhaust unless it's really knackered.

Hi,

I took my car round to my local mecanic, he put it up on the ramps and we both had a good look around the exhaust and could not find anything wrong with it???!!!! Nothing is loose or has a hole in it, the heat sheild look like new and is secure.
So I dont know what this noise is!!!!, i basically sound like brakes screeching or a fan belt slipping and only does it we you come of the acelerator at high ish revs (not everytime though).

Does anyone have any ideas?? else im going to wait until it gets worst.

Mine make the same noise but is due to this........

The exhaust itself is solid but the mesh shield has rusted an sometimes makes the noise that you describe when idling or decelterating. HTH

Its £100 for a replacment downpipe. I did mine a year ago now.

Hi,

Ok i think you chaps are right about the mesh shield, basically at 2500 rpm it makes the noise. As soon as you drop the revs or push the clutch in (revs drop again) it stops.

May have to look into replacing it as it is very anoying especiallywith the roof down.

i think ive noticed a ratling sound from the exaust too.

Sounds like its comming from the flexy part you guys describe. . will have to check it out when i can.

If it is, Where do you purchase these and who could do it.

I know the system is one of DTR,s .
