Hello!

A bird chose to end up its life in the windscreen of my B. :(
The windscreen is still in place with a big chip and some cracks, one becoming longer and longer.

Do you recommend to have it replaced by Fiat or by a specialised glass replacement company (like Autoglass for example)? Which one is more likely to make a good job, with an original windscreen and in a reasonable time? Thanks for sharing your suggestions or experiences.

I got mine done by autoglass they done a really good job , done the job at my workplace , claimed off my insurance £50 excess for glass replacement does not affect your no claims hope this helps
regards ricky

Nice to read that you had a good experience with autoglass. I will go for them.

Thanks Ricky!

pulling up this old thread i wonder if the B windscreen stil available from autoglass or carglass ? do they make it anymore ? does someone replace it recently ?

We had ours replaced by Autoglass in July 2017. They also replaced the windscreen surround rubber.

I personally chose to do the prep work (wiper removal, valance removal, etc) *before they* arrived. If you do that they will not put back what you took off for obvious reasons.

Perfectly happy with the result.

There's a crack in my screen about a foot long ,doesn't encroach the

wiper swept area ,thus not an MOT fail and doesn't increase in length too

often.

As it's not on my side and I'm gradually covering it with vignettes ,not going to

get a screen change any time soon.....:D

ok ! i was concern about being dificult to get a new one ... so it seems they still make them and they are available !
thank you for the reply .

Better to get it done before it becomes a problem? i.e. glass no longer available or it fails MOT!
