Can anyone tell me which is the best gear box oil for the B? does it need to be limited slip diff oil?

Is there such thing as a gear box flush before puting the oil in?

Any tips on the best ways to go about changing the oil etc...

Cheers!

Zc75 (Standard fiat stuff) is good, you can use treatments wynn's etc but If you need that stuff you've got problems tbh.

Hgt but it should be the same, drain it here,

Fill it here, (on the front).

Its full when it starts to **** out the filling up hole, takes 2ltr's.

Thanks for that Dan, pictures as well - Brilliant!

Might be worth mentioning to anyone else about to do this that you always remove the fill plug first (otherwise you could end up with a drained gearbox and no way to fill it when the fill plug proves obstinate).

If that happens you can remove the sensor to the right of the fill point as its near enought the same level.

For what it's worth one of the original postings on gearbox oil on the barchetta club was very much in favour of Redline oil.........................

"Well , drained of the standard gearbox oil and replaced it with Redline MTL
tranmission fluid , has all the spec of a SAE 75-90 gearbox oil with the
fluidity of an automatic tranmission fluid , makes the gearbox on the
Barchetta way smoother than it ever was , especially the third into second
shift at speed ............. well impressed , seemingly reduces transfer
losses through the gearbox too , ( good for MPG and Performance) , all you
need is two US quarts of MTL about £25 quid delivered from Demon Tweeks and a
12mm allen key and hey presto smooth gearchanges and better MPG can't be bad
, and all for the price of a tank of petrol , go on you know it's worth it
................. Bert."

As I have mentioned a few times previously, all my cars gearboxes are drained and refilled with TQF or automatic transmission fluid to you:)
Much much smoother:D

You could google search it !?!

Castrol TQF is an automatic transmission fluid specially
designed to meet the requirements of the Ford Specification
ESW-M2C-33G. It has been formulated from carefully
selected high quality mineral oils and incorporates various
additives to provide wear, oxidation and corrosion
resistance. The product is dyed red to distinguish it from
crankcase oils should leakage appear.

doc im thinking of changing my gearbox oil having read the posts

seems an equal to the TQF but halfords did not have it in stock
after a few weeks i should clock up about 500 miles by then i will have a better idea how it drives
