Is there any advantage in having a stainless steel new one from DTR or wherever. My mate (mechanic) says that the car will sound tinny, and course, and the handling is affected. Is this true?

You'll save weight, the car will look much cooler , and you might also get a tiny performance boost. The sound's def not tinny ;)

Pic of mine.

I agree with Robot.

It'll last much longer that the mild steel sort and the sound (DTR single pipe) is really great.

As for the handling, I haven't noticed any difference, and I can't see why it would hurt the handling anyway.

There may be a tinny sound to start with, before its fully run in, the DTR twin will also be louder when first fitted. It does calm down...a bit.

It is only from the cat back, but cheaper than than the original Fiat item.

i have a DTR stainless, I love it! (y) Sounds great!:) Especially when your revs are in the mid range and rising.!! :D

DTR's single system are lighter than the original fitted system.

I think they sound better too.

I have a custom made powerflow exhaust which I got from Demon Tweeks in Wrexham. Its stainless steel and I'm very happy with it. Its nice and meaty without being too loud. It's a massive improvement over the standard exhaust which needs replacing every few years. :)

I got mine custome made by Zorstec. wanted to goto DTR but a bit to far from me! It sounds quite nice and looks good (see pic) also it has a lifetime warrenty, if your in the north give them a try (y)

Tufty - I have a complete exhaust for sale if you want it. Cat back is (I think) a DTR system with stainless boxes. Sounded great when it was on the car. I'm happy to split it up if you like. PM me if you are interested.
