...exhaust :D (Oh no... ).

After almost 2 months of waiting I finally got my InoxCar ESD102 today :woot:.
It's the cheapest exhaust I could find for my B here in Norway (about €460 ), but I'm really happy with how it looks.

Only got 1 bad pic of it, though (...so why do I bother starting a thread?) - but I'll try to have a few more taken soon.

The old exhaust looked great too :)

The first priority would be to get the engine sorted...but I fear that it's gonna be well expensive, so I've sort of put it on hold until I get some more money.

On May 2nd I'm having the bonnet and front resprayed in connection with having the dent fixed. Also gonna debadge it then.

Calipers need to get painted red.

Need a new heat shield in the engine.

A few metallic bits for the interior. Bling-bling :)

Cut the springs a little to get it lower.

Buy some roadster bars if the missus doesn't kill me first.

Vacuum it :D

Plus a bunch of other things, I'm sure :yum:

lol i love the exhaust, and the ideas youve got for it
but whatever you do DONT I REPEAT DO NOT cut the springs!
if you wanna lower it then do it properly,a set of springs is only 99 pound on ebay!
cutting the springs would be like letting your tyres down so they look low profile.
cutting springs causes all sorts of problems not to mention an instant MOT fail(n)
be safe ,by springs!

Ooh what a nice shiny one:eek:
You know what's going to happen now dont you?
You will find yourself on all fours every month buffing it:eek:

I'll have it spit shined rather than buffing it :D ...

I did have it lowered by 40 mm, but it still doesn't sit quite as low as I would have liked it to. MOT (or its equivalent in Norway) shouldn't be a problem as my brother's a mechanic, and he'll pass it ;). I would nevertheless need to have the springs OK'ed by the authorities and included in the registration papers before I do it. I am, however, not totally sure I'll cut them - need to conisder it a bit longer. The ride is nice and firm as it is now, but...

Found 2 more pics :yum:

Ah...good of you to remind me. Yup - condensation :( One more thing on the the to-do list

I think it's only necessary when it comes to modifying exhaust, lowering it, getting more bhp from it, changing oil, refilling washer fluid, making a left turn etc.

And what did I do today??
Kerb one of my new fecking alloys that's what:bang:
Dick heed (as they say in Scotland)

Old thread, but I have a tip for you, Robot; get a new mount behind the front silencer. If not, you will get a lot of torque (? vridning) in the flexi. Svendsen Eksos fixed it for me for about 50 Euros. At the same time they replaced my flexi. What a coincidence..

I think torsion's the word you were looking for :)

I just changed my flex a month ago or so, so I don't think I can be bothered doing anything more with it - but thanks for the tip though (y) Btw., when I changed my flex I had to modify the mount a little; I had to cut a little off the bracket, and moreover I had to use some washers to space down the nuts holding it in place

In retrospect I think you might be right that the exhaust is a bit on the loud side; I set off a few car alarms in a parking garage just by revving it a little :D:slayer::slayer:

:ROFLMAO: Car alarms, haha!

I have device that measure dB at work, think I might swing by today to find out how loud it actually is.. I'm guessing 110dB at 3000rpm, roof down, full throttle, warm exhaust.

109,7dB @ 3000 rpm. That's inside the car. In my registration book(?) it says 87,5dB @ 4750 rpm or something. That's measured 1m from the exhaust tip at a 45degree angle.

At 7000rpm I have ca 101dB. Hard to get a good look, my eyes are mostly at the road at 7000 rpm. :p

I'm trying to find out if there's anything I can do to make the sound better without buying a new rear box, but can't think of anything.. Any tip?

Btw; all the highdB's were around 30-100Hz.
