NB. Be careful when attempting this job, don't put yourself or anyone around you at risk.

If in doubt contact a professional mechanic.

First of all, I can't stress enough how delicate you need to be with the bolts which secure the bush and bracket to the wishbone; if you sheer them you will make an easy job into a nightmare!

The best method to use is as follows;

With your ratchet/wrench/spanner loosen the nut very slowly, when it starts to turn even the slightest turn, nip it back up - gently.

Then loosen the nut until it starts to turn, then nip it up.

Repeat this process until the nut feels loose, then proceed to remove it fully.

You will find the N/S more difficult than the O/S for obvious reasons.

Tools;

1 x Jack
1 x Axle Stand
1 x Block of Wood
1 x 13mm Socket/Spanner
1 x 19mm Socket
1 x Tub of Vaseline - don't get any ideas!
1 x Bush (per side)
1X Sheet of Sandpaper

Step 1;

Loosen wheel nuts, jack up the car, place axle stand under a secure area near the wishbone mounts, lower car onto axle stand and remove jack. Remove the wheel.

Step 2;

Loosen and eventually remove the bolts for the outer ARB bush. Then slide/pull/twist the old bush from the ARB.

Step 3;

Put the jack under the wishbone securely and jack the suspension up until the point where the car lifts from the axle stand.
Get that block of wood and wedge it between the wishbone and ARB - it will all become clear shortly!

Step 4;

Prepare the bolts with a wire brush and lubricate the threads.
Dress the end of the ARB with some sandpaper to ensure it is smooth, then lubricate with a little Vaseline. Also lubricate the inside of the new bush with a little Vaseline.
NB. Vaseline will not attack the rubber bush unlike grease. It also helps when slipping on the new bush.

Step 5;

Cut a very small relief in one end of the bush - just enough to aid forcing it on the ARB.
NB. Although this may be frowned upon, it was literally the only way I could get the bush on. If you cut the relief correctly it will not compromise the structural integrity of the bush whatsoever.

Step 6;

Feeling strong?!
You have to force the bush on the ARB by pushing and twisting it.
Oh, thats why the wood is there, there is now enough clearance between the ARB and wishbone to twist the bush 360 degrees!

Step 7;

Starting it off.

Nearly there, keep going - its worth it!

Step 8;

Once the bush is in the correct place with the rubber side facing down towards the road, remove the wood, and lower the jack.
Now get those bolts back in! Nip them up nice and tight, but not too tight!

Step 9;

Almost there, replace the wheel tighten wheel nuts, remove the axle stand and lower the car.

DON'T FORGET TO NIP UP THE WHEEL NUTS WITH THE WHEELS ON THE GROUND!

Done!
