If the pistons are fine, then all you need is a spare bottom end to get a high boost turbo, the pistons from 1242 as Arc has rightly said are not the same, they are smaller in diameter than 1108 pistons the extra CCs coming from a longer stroke and therefore less square engine, thats why 1108cc rev higher as standard!

you're also better off keeping that car with the Van Aaken paper work attached to it in its history and getting a new bottom end in it rather than try and transfere it all over to another car cos that way more work.

Or do as Aaron said wouldn't cost too much to do.. days labour at a garage prob...
 
Would I be right in saying that the pistons are modified OE ones? Just skimming to to the piston crown?
 
I wonder how much the insurance would cost.....................I'd have time to swap the bottom ends over...................its just the problems Alex has had with his that makes me a bit uncertain....................:chin:

It's like any turbo car gotta be well looked after regular servicing etc..

But well worth the running costs imo :yum:

Yeah I know :) Like Aaron keeps on saying :D Why did vAD stop doing the high boost? Was it due to people not looking after them properly and blowing them up and going back to vAD and calling them unreliable?

Bath isn't that far away...............................:chin:

I heard that the story goes..

The guy that was in the know with FIRE engines left VAD and they couldn't carry on doing the high boosts :confused:

Not sure how true that is though...
