Re: GT for sale

mmmm, seems expensive considering its condition in pics, and we all know cars look better in pics online not worse haha.

had an mot in 2006 and only covered 2k miles between that and its next mot in 2012. And it only did 22 miles between that MOT and now.

Would have been nice if they could have pulled it out for some proper photos, maybe chucked a bucket of water of it lol. I know they are thin on the ground these days but i suspect thats pretty much scrap and seller is chancing that someone will buy. Description did make me laugh though, 'mint for age' and 'show car' made me chuckle and also that its a good thing the timing belt was changed at 68k as that has to have been prior to the mot in 2006 at 89k so that nice new belt is at least 13 years old minimum. its defo sitting lower than 30mm at the back.

If it genuinely is rust free then fairs, its worth a shout but tbh i'd be steering well clear of that unless the price was like a tenth of the asking price now lol.

Well spotted on another website it says the bottom end is cracked between cylinder 3 + 4, dam I ain't never heard that b4, do these heads crack easy or something, surely not if u leave it standard which I suppose most people didn't lol. I suppose they just forgot to mention that on eBay though, 🤔🤬 yeh defo not worth it my bad. 😂

Re: GT for sale

And I just realised they started on L reg which is 1993 ha all these years I thought M reg was the first model 😂 and the last reg is V plate I saw one on eBay the other day for 3500 so the GT is 93-99 I always thought it was 94-99 learn something new everyday 😂 so that means there's 8 different registrations l,m,n,p,r,s,t,v. Is this correct l-n reg is phase 1 p-r is phase 2 and s-v is phase 3?

R246ACB my old GT, i dunno if it was advertised anywhere, i dont think so, but yes a previous owner has put a deposit down to buy it back. Believe his current forum name is Sir16v. I did nearly get it back myself at one point, was gonna swap my classic panda for it but it just wasnt a good time for me to get another project, i was getting rid of hte panda cause i didnt have time for it so seemed silly to get the GT back which needed some welding and stuff doing. I'm sure thats another thing i'll regret in the future but hey ho, thats the way it went lol

Re: GT for sale

Ah so that must mean l,m reg is gt1 n,p reg is gt2 and r,s,t,v must all be GT3 but yours is a 98 I'm sure r reg is 97 too, isn't that when they started putting 2 regs in one year? I have a gt2 and it's a P reg 1996 well I think it's a gt2 😂😂

Ah ok, i left basically every car group on facebook not that long back, just in a panda one and a ignis one (one for each of my cars). Current owner is called Ashley, he's a forum member but not active i don't think. But a quick history as far back as i know is a lad called alex owned it (alex22 iirc his forum name), i bought it from him. I sold it to Eklipze3k, who sold it to Sir16v, who sold it to Ashley and is buying it back apparently.

Re: GT for sale

if anyone has any mk1 punto thats never had welding and doesn't need it they should consider themselves lucky haha.

Best thing to do if you have a genuinely rot free one is clean it all up and seal the underneath. Its the floors that go on them the worst. When I sold mine about 5 years ago it was solid - had a little bit of surface rust starting to show but nothing at all bad, 5 years later and there was a big hole in the floor. This has been fixed now but i have not seen the repair.
