Just goes to show that sometimes that a well crafted sarcastic missive works.

I saw this yesterday surprising that people are actually bidding, sounds like a heap of **** to me!

quote... it's an 8 year old "1st car",
not suffered MUCH owner abuse.., and still actually runs fine, ;)

the 500's are still WELL over priced,
this ad. puts it in the ugly corner - with the almost identical ( but more practical) Panda.

so if you are prepared to spend a few hundred pounds on it.., you find if the 500 experience is for you...

you'll also save the Euro5 / dodgy power scenarios of the £8 k cars:D

It's the Euro6 engine that gives most of the problems.

The 1.2 500 used the VVT engine right from launch and meets Euro5 emissions standards; it's just that Fiat didn't homologate it to Euro5 until (IIRC) the 2010 model year.

OTOH the 1.2 Panda retained the Euro4 engine until late 2010; personally I think it's a better drive than the VVT unit.

Couldn't agree more (and I've been saying this for a long time now). The Panda also doesn't share most of the niggly 500 faults (hatch wiring, door mirrors, etc).
