" no v5 as it had a saleable reg "

So is the car going to be declared scrapped? in favour to remove the private reg?

Should it be MOTed first and issued with date releated plates?

This car was listed on ebay last winter, the listing and pictures were exactly the same. I would imagine it's been taken off the registry in order to transfer the plate?

Anyway it's just around the corner from me and I'm going to have a look at it tomorrow.

Panda 4x4 1.3D project?

Andy or Andy - either way sound great to me (y)

edit: I've got feeling that there is third party involved.

Excellent deduction J.

- We're going to have a go at getting this one back on the road for my mate Sean and his family to enjoy.

Sean came wading with us in Masham on Sunday and got the bug enough to want his own little bundle of rusty joy.
AndyPanda4x4 has done the inspection, made a deal with the vendor and Sam will trailer it away for us. - Thanks men, great work. We owe you one.(y)

The list of bits we know we need, we think we've got 'in stock' between Andy, aquamarine and me. Next job is the transportation from Knaresborough to Masham and then Masham to Liverpool for work to commence.. New thread or keep this one?:)

Great news! That a serious cooperation guys and quick turn around!
Other sections of FF can be only jealous!

Car looks sound, I was actually thinking that Sean is the buyer.
i've got few bits laying around so if you short of something ( doubth it) let me know.

Well 'Mick' is the obvious one, but not sure that really suits a car??:D

Good work anyway, glad to hear it will be going to a good home! When is the 16v being dropped in?

On the DVLA side of things, best to simply apply for a new log book and see what happens. I've done this before with a car declared as scrapped, a few weeks later a new V5 appeared no questions asked!

The first time I saw the reg I thought "Mack", but I think it will be upto the new owner to decide. Besides it will probably be on a different plate as that one was sold 6 years ago.

Description and pics to follow later today :)

Looking forward to it! Nice one Andys.

Shame the plate is changing, but exciting to see what the DVLA lottery may bring. For MCK I couldn't think past "Muck" but that may be a Bob the Builder thang.

Stage 1 recovery complete.

This car is in amazing condition considering it's the same age as Hadrian. It's had a patch on both sill rear sections in front on the rear wheels but as far as I can see that's it. Original sills remain intact and solid where they join the floor, the driver's side joining seam is a little crusty at the front but it hasn't separated like they normally do. Both rear seams inside the arches are good, boot floor and rear panel are really solid. The rear arches are quite crusty but at a good point to do a solid repair, drivers' front arch has had repair work started but will need addressing. Passenger front arch is fairly crusty at the bottom. The doors are in amazing condition as you can see in the pics to follow. The tailgate is good and strong apart from a couple of small dents, but the bonnet has started rusting on the outer lip, the inside is pretty good. Both mirrors are nackered and will need replacing.

The interior is complete and in good condition, barring the clock which is missing. The parcel shelf is present and covered in plenty of straw. The bonnet release catch is missing but we got a free pair of mole grips for the job. The original stereo is present with speakers and does work!

Electrics seem fine apart from passenger indicator which is broken, and reverse light is not working.

The brakes are bloody amazing, even the handbrake. But not sure how good they are as yet as I've not had the wheels off. It has 4 good tyres on but the spare is missing and the front two tyres are 165/70/13!

The rear bumper could not be found at the farm but the brackets are still there so should be fine to put another one on straight away, after removing the plough, which we can keep!

The engine sounds amazing, very quiet. Only 71,600 on the clock and the initial thoughts of a noisey gear box are in fact not true as it's perfect. 4wd system works perfectly (used already to get up the wet ramps on the trailer).

The fuel tank needs replacing as it's dog rotten, but the filler neck is fine. It's also missing drivers' side inner wing.

I will have a better look around if it stops raining later!

For now some pics...
