Panda (Classic) Grey panda 4x4 (D651 NUH) in Wolverhampton

Panda (Classic) Grey panda 4x4 (D651 NUH) in Wolverhampton

I've just had a look again on all photos from the initial listing.

Definalely not worth 2k!

I does have visible rust allready in most common places ( visible).

Boot door, scuttle panel both doors, boot lower panel, etc.

Good candidate for Offroader for 1.3k max.

Wonder why the decals are unequally faded.

Sold for £2k.

So £50 ( 2.5%) money gain probably does not cover with seller expectations.

Looking forward to see the new owner here.

Edit:

TBH it looks like fake account and market research.
Will be relisted due to time waster soon with BIN £2.5k, auction start from £2k.

Hi, I don't think I am a fake account as I'm looking forward to picking up my new Panda on Friday! :)

Not really sure I know what I've let myself in for in buying an old Panda 4x4 but (at the moment) I love the idea of it.

About 3 months ago I sold a Supercharged Range Rover and bought a Panda 100HP to replace it. It's been great fun so far but probably not going to be brilliant in the winter (I live in Northumberland) so I decided to get a winter panda too!

My wife thinks I'm an idiot for buying an old panda (and I probably still need to get something to ship her and the kids about it) but I love the classic ones. Let's hope I don't change my mind once I've picked it up...

Any advice to a recent multiple Panda buyer very welcome. First bit of advice should probably be to STOP BUYING PANDAS!

Particular advice on what to do with this one would be good. I can see it needs a bit of work on some rust patches etc. but is it worth getting it done now or should I just make sure it's mechanically sound, use it through the winter and worry about making it cosmetically better in the spring?

Cheers,

Chris

Hi Chris, welcome!

You are in the right place - you will find plenty of Panda nutcases on here, who believe me are far worse than you for buying multiple Pandas!

A good place to start is the members motors section, you can find examples of pretty much everything you might want to do in there - here's mine but there are many more with page after page of great tips:

https://www.fiatforum.com/members-motors/429798-my-panda-4x4-northernchap.html

I'd recommend you start one for your car if you're going to be doing some work on it, we all love to see how people are getting on with their projects.

Oh and be warned - it's addictive! Before you know it you'll be coming on a 4x4 day with us all and you'll start looking at knobbly tyres and lift kits and all sorts...!

Hi and Very welcome Chris.

I'm glad that you've meterialise yourself here, have you found the "Ebay watch" thread before making the £2k bid ar after?

Just to clarify - you can't just stop buying pandas, or it is hard to do so.

First of all you need to decide what is the main purpouse for your panda 4x4.
Have fun doing some offroad or show room condition? Your example is somewhere between - not too rough but in need for rust threatment and probably full respray to get to the show room condition. After having it restored you migh hesitate a bit to take it out for some mudy/rocky green lanes. That's why it is so easy to end up with multiple classic pandas, one for each job.

Again, congratulations for getting your self nice car. You family will change their minds preety soon.

Edit: does the car have a name?
If this panda will be female i would go for "HUN" pronounced with deep Yorkshire accent.

Ps. Good to have another 4x4 member up North.

Thanks for the kind welcome! I picked it up (gender tbc at this stage) on Friday and had a VERY retro experience driving it home!

Drives sweet as a nut and happily bowled along between 60 and 70.

I popped in to see a good bodyshop guy on the way back to see what he thought about getting some of the rust sorted and will be sticking it in to get checked over by the local mechanic this week.

Overall i'm really pleased with it. I had forgotten how basic cars used to be but love the simplicity. I think i'll get the worst bits of the rust (door bottoms basically) done now and the. Just see how i get on over the winter. I can't wait for some snow now!! Oh yeah, and some spotlights so i can see in the dark a bit better!

I'll post some pics in the new members area soon.

Hi again and thanks for linking to my Panda!

I've had him a year now but as you can see from the mileage, not used him much. Shame as the kids love him and named him the 'sofa car' as the back seat is like a sofa (?!). Really fun just trundling around in him and getting thumbs up from people with the kids singing 'the windows on the panda go 'wind wind wind' etc.

Unfortunately with 5 cars and working away quite a bit I really don't get much of a chance to wheel him out the garage so it's time for someone else to enjoy him. I've also got my 100HP up for sale as I try to thin out the stable (before no doubt buying something else!).

As you can see from the MOT report he needed some fixing up to get through this time. As mentioned in the ad I've just had all that professionally done. I got the rusty door bottom fixed and a few other bits touched up as part of that too. With the cosmetic and mechanical stuff I've had done over the last year he's looking and running much better than he was when I got him.

Bumper still has a crack in it which I've never bothered about and whilst he's in (i think) really good condition for his age, he's not mint. Would probably need a respray for that. Currently in a really usable condition.

Will be interesting to see what offers I get. Very few classic 4x4s about in decent nick so hard to know what to expect.

Sorry no, he went off to his new home a while ago. Trying to avoid buying another one...
