whats wrong with the car?

ahh i think only I can view it as the auction hasnt started... ill paste the description.

"You are looking at my Fiat Cinquecento Sporting in Red.
I will get straight to the point and say that I dont think it will pass the MOT which is why i'm selling.

From my own pre-MOT checks I expect it to fail on misalignment of the fron headlights (point too low down), one of the rear wheel hubs is worn (still perfectly drivable but a little noisy), the handbrake may need some attention as its not great (had a new cable 2 months ago). Also, the horn currently doesnt work because of the aftermarket steering wheel (standard wheel will be included with car) but the horn itself works perfect, just not connected.

Other than that the car drives excelent and doesnt have any engine problems or electrical problems.

Cosmeticaly the car is very clean with only the front end having any damage. The previous owner had a front end knock at some point but from inspection it doesnt actually seem to be anything major, only a dent to the bonnet and one of the wings (wing dent really unoticable as its only a slight warp in the metal rather than a dent. Bonnet is more serious but it still closes and locks, just looks nasty). The front end knock might be the reason for the lights being misaligned although I dont know, stupidly I never asked the bloke what he hit...

As you can see from the photos, I have stripped out the rear of the car and installed a race floor. The full rear interior will be included with the sale, ill even refit it if you require, however if i have to remove the floor ill probably end up breaking it so wont include it in the sale unless left as is. The front end interior is fully colour coded in blue and silver and looks gorgeous! There are no tears or rips in the seats but the rear bench has a slight cig burn but its not really noticable as its in the fold so is covered up most of the time.

As you can see, the tax runs out at the end of august. I will retax the car at the buyers cost however if you dont want it retaxed then I will have no choice but to register it as off the road, it will then be at your own risk as to whether you want to drive it home. I dont want to face a £40 fine should you not tax it in time or fail to collect before the 31st. IDEALY THE CAR MUST BE COLLECTED BY THE 31st OF AUGUST!! IF YOU CANT THEN DONT BID!

The MOT runs out on the 15th of september.

I will be on holiday till the 18th of august so wont be able to answer any questions until then. I have been as honest about the car as i can be andit truely is a good car except for the mot failures.

I'll even mention that the exhaust tip is rusty BUT the system isnt. it just looks silly at the back :) but wont cause any problems.

Good luck! email me with any questions you may have, i may check my mail on holiday so you may get an answer sooner. no viewing im affraid until the 18th.

Good luck! No reserve"

heres a few that are on the auction.. they are larger and there are more on the auction.

remember tho that i recon ital need a bit of money thrown at it to pass MOT although TBH you might get away with the headlights as they arent causing anyone else any danger.. just dont light up the road ahead as much as they should! may just get away with it with a warning saying to adjust them etc. hubs they are very fussy on but easy fix.. same with handbrake.. as far as i can see i dont think theres anything else failable except horn but that works and just needs the normal wheel putting back on.

I could deliver but like uve said ide need the train back :p

right, ill just see if i can get somewhere to store it :D

*runs off to ask dad*

really!!

im quite serious!

if i can store it somewhere, by the time i have passed my test, i should have it up and running :D (y)

everything youve said says that i MIGHT pass the mot, and that its all easy (if fiddly) to fix, yet you say it will needmoney thrown at it?

i dont mind spending much, but would like to know about how much? :D

well it MAY pass depending how fussy the station is yu take it too.. handbrake does work but on the 5th click.. may be fine after some adjusting rather than replacing bits etc. one of the hubs is worn and makes a whining noise over 60mph so it is on the way out but they are simple to replace and about £40 a go. but again, its not gone yet so the station might not fail it.

as for the headlights. slam panel recieved some damage from the frontender that the previous owner had but i dont actually know if this is causing the lights to be misaligned. it might be that the light units are broken in which case ital need new headlights which come in at around £30 each on ebay new or cheaper from scrappie... or it may be something completly different.. maybe they arent on right etc. tbh I havent really looked into it too much, just taken the bumper off to look at the slam panel etc. if it is the slam panel then replacing it might be a little pricey, the panel itself is only £30 but ital need welding in which you may be able to do? or maybe you know someone that can? or if not, a garage should do it cheap if you prep the car and suply the parts etc.

however, as ive said, I dont know the exact cause of the light problem but i dont know if lights pointing down is even a failure? i know lights pointing up is as ital blind other people etc.
