Just in case anyone is looking at this, the seller has confirmed that they have no code for the connect+ :(

Not surprisingly they have not listed my question or their answer, but they have updated the listing to now include the "Officer Crabtree" style coded message (no pun intended).........

"YOU MY NEED A COOD"

- so I am posting this hoping that no one "catches a cood" on this one!! :D

Since I asked the question, they have reduced it by £50 :bang: to £300 when effectively its worth nothing more than a means of spare parts if its code-less. I made reference to at least needing to know the VIN and reg number of the car it came from, but they have not volunteered that they have such numbers (they emailed me the two unit part numbers) - so that rules out going via FIAT.

The alledged cost of the alternative route (which is to securely wrap and despatch the unit off to Magneti Marelli in Italy for a decode and reset before same secure return delivery), will apparently be close to the asking price itself. And then there is the cost of buying/making the loom, aerials, power-delay timer to fool the canbus........

CD changer code missing too - although that is easily available and I've already got one of them :D

Shame about that code - would have made an offer..:( Although feel free to PM me if you know of guaranteed cunning way of getting the code other than either of the above :D

Love the graphic - can't get his "cod french" accent out of my head now :)

To describe it as "my need a cood" as it does and not list your question does seem a bit dishonest. Does that get them off misdescribing it when they say that it works? Surely without the code they can't possibly know?

Still, first time I've seen a connect nav system and it does look quite impressive - it would certainly fill the space in the dashboard.

I can't help thinking that audio / gps technology has moved on so much in recent years and that there must be much better, brand new solutions out there. Given that a 7" touch screen Nexus can be had for less than £200 some of that tech must have found its way into car entertainment systems by now surely?

I have connect nav, the multitude of functions and features requires the 160 page instruction book.

Hmmm, sounds too complicated for me Keith. I only got around to progamming the presets on my radio a few weeks ago.

They get both medium wave and long wave.

And sometimes I'll accidentally press one of the buttons on the sterring wheel and music will come out as well :)

Possibly. If you want to listen to music you need a Prestigio, so you can fold the front passenger seat flat and place your gramophone on top of it. The 18" wheels can make the needle jump though.

Evo - thanks for the alert. It's a shame that the seller has made it worthless. Ebay does promise "you get what you pay for or your money back", so hopefully whoever buys it will get a refund. Provided they find the problem and refer it to ebay within 30 days though.

So can I get the cricket on the BBC World Service?

Nothing better than listening to TMS whilst having a relaxing afternoon trying to work out why the car's stopped working again ;-)

And then giving up and putting a post on here.
