I'd like to know what was up with that, I very nearly put a bid on it, quite sad I didn't after seeing it go for such a low price!
well, the chap who bought it turns out is my next door neighbours son, how weird's that? Anyhoo, he popped round today as I was messing on my 4x4 and we got chatting. He bought it because he liked the look of my Stilo, he got a good deal on it didn't he?!
I have had a good look round it with him, and looked at a few of the niggles present. For a start, the wobble. Advertised as having a vibration and EML light on. The wobble is very slight, but noticeable. We had a look round, could be CV - grease everywhere, but also could easily be balancing as there isn't ANY balancing bars on the wheels at all. Theres marks where some was, but they aren't there now! Tyres all good, tracking not bad an dim not 100% convinced it could be drive shafts BUT the vibration occurs on acceleration only - let off the pedal at whatever speed and the vibration ceases. He is getting the wheels balanced first job or swapping the back to front.
EML indicates several minor issue - Lambda x 2 and O2 x 2 are showing faults, air bag warning but that's the drivers seat which must have been swapped at some point and the resulting connectors were different, so they have joined the wires using an electrical block! easy fix.
Cleared the service light for him, and did several checks using fiatscan - all good except the climate control. Basically, the direction doesn't work, neither does hot or cold BUT we found its the motors/actuators each side and middle, I presume they are burned out as they just whirr away like little alarms.
Other than that, its VERY tidy for sub £500, bit of oil here and there but no leaks, I suspect careless filling. No smoke, water is good, engine temp good, idles perfect and solid, drives superb, accelerates ok apart from the off putting vibration and stops very well.
Gutted, id have been very happy with it for that money!!
oh, and he is a new member also, first post with regards buzzing sound from dash!
