I believe we have in AW on here recently. Iirc @purple haze mentioned about them cleaning up the engine back and putting the insulation back in place the wrong way around.

I would say thats quite high given the condition and the inside out engine bay lining, non standard steel wheels, white plastics, extra plastic trim on the doors etc but its interesting to see that this parade sold for 220 more than mine did when I bought it.

Not that I am even remotely considering selling PTP just interesting to see the jump in price given the condition ,though this may well be because it is located in England, and as I have stated before on this forum, England seems to be far more classic and retro car friendly than Scotland! Honestly in Scotland there seems to be a stigma to driving any car over 7 years old, like you are scummy or something I dont understand it at all. Whenever I have been to England people seem to be happy at seeing an older car on the roads!

I was wondering if it was worth putting ptp away for winter??

Have you not got the rain up there like we have...hence no salt?

It has been mostly rainy yes, with mild frost at times, but the gritters have still been out when the cold snaps have been predicted. I will take a photo of some of the "salt" (I use the term loosely) which gets spread on the footpaths and roads, and see how it compares to what you guys get in England.

And PTP is coming out of the garage on *drum roll please* the 13th of March (the day my insurance is due up, so makes sense to insure PTP rather than the brava) , phasing in though as my fiance now works at the hospital I work in, so if the cold weather is predicted again and the council grits the roads, I can get a lift into work with her! She is a staff nurse and does 12 hour shifts though, so it would mean coming in earlier and leaving later, but I could usually schedule overtime for these days, so its all good

But I do sort of wish It had been more wintery weather, it would have made this period of not having PTP on the road a bit easier knowing that I definately couldnt have brought myself to run him on the roads most days! It has been pretty hard for me not being able to drive him (he is on sorn and obviously uninsured till the 13th of March) On most of the days when it has been raining Ive found myself wishing for a more usual Scottish winter, so I understand what you are getting at

All very well and good in hindsight though I still think it was best not to take the chance!

This is just outside my work, the photos are fairly typical, though on main roads there usually is more

Jon, you and Onemanmade should swap places, you'd be right at home in Scotland.

I actually wish the stereotype was true, more people would be driving older cars and the economy wouldnt be in the state its in. There is a culture in Scotland of getting in debt up to your eyeballs to have new cars and houses etc

I personally dont quite live up to the stereotype, but Im glad im not in the keep up with the joneses club!

England is much much more friendly and sensible about these things (just my opinion), Scotland could take a leaf out of England's book there.
