It's finished!

Well, as finished as these projects ever are. Still some tidying to do and no doubt testing will reveal more issues.

Optional bike rack fitted to test angles before contact with the car.
Unfolding takes about 4 minutes - not bad compared with a tent.

Storage and shelves in/on the sides.

And a sheltered corner for the kettle to sit.

A mad project but it has been challenging in a fun way, coming up with solutions and learning to weld and paint better.

Next job, is to find a suitable test.

Let me know what you think of it. And if anyone has a pair of Sisley side trim canoes, I'm interested.

So whens the 6x6 modification taking place then? :D

I haven't given up on the idea. So far have come close on two different power sources but neither really made complete sense.. (That was probably a silly thing to say but you know what I mean.)

The brake/steering system is all there and ready to fit. The new jockey/steering wheel is on. I'd still prefer a two stroke engine to an electric motor but we'll see what turns up.

Interestingly my next door neighbour gave me an outboard engine at the weekend...

Hmmmm...

tried it.. things dont go to plan with boat engines they have really bad cooling issues and the gear boxes are just totally weak :/

a better idea would be to use a moped engine stood on its end. pretty easy to get hold of and nice and simple to work on. plus its CVT!

electric all the way. simple and easy. besides you have that lovely axle just begging for a little motor.. as far as speed controlling it goes, just use a resistor bank made out of an old 240v electric fire.

you could go PWM if you feel up to it.. it would sing to you then and also become more efficient.

i'd love an old milk float.. i could make one do magic things. just finding a gear box that could take almost infinite torque heh.

Great fun weekend thanks to Palio for all the organisation to get us in and out so smoothly.

Couldn't keep my hand out of my pocket when tempted by all those retail opportunities - two fuel filters, some silicon tube, two 'P' clips and a steak pie. But compared to some, I think I got off lightly...

Not sure who you could be thinking of there Andy;)

Thanks for coming along, the Snatch Panda was the most popular car on our stand I think, certainly plenty of people taking photos and having a good look, it will be even more famous now!

You're welcome, but more importantly thanks for bringing the Panda along! Hope you enjoyed what you saw of the show - sorry we didn't get chance for much of a chat!
