Panda (Classic) 1983 Mk1 White Super [RUC 671Y]

We've seen this before, quite some time ago. I can't quite remember but its a Panda/Marbella mish mash.

EDIT: Found it

That explains why I thought it looked a bit weird. And I thought it was just because my eyes were playing up after a migraine... -- but then, given the comments on the other thread, that may be the best way to look at it....

Thank you, young sir...! :worship:

PS: I think it might be time I gave up this Panda-spotting lark. I'm starting to dream about them (last night, it was Palio's azzurro Mk1, that was at Chiltern Hills...) -- as well as having a VmanC type shed to keep a fleet of them in.... Ahhhh

I agree actually - I would never trust it apart from anything else. Was thinking the doors might be worth something, but they are mk1 so scrub that!

Why only the doors? It's a completely restored Mk1 with the wrong interior, headlights and grille. Obviously it would have to be seen in the flesh to ensure the work was carried out professionally, but when I was talking to the owner a couple of years ago he told me it had about £12,000 spent on it at a top end restorers.

Just too many problems with it for me to be interested. It's been unlicenced since April 2011 and is a brown 903 per the DVLA records - the car looks white to me and the seller says 1.0L (though it doesn't look it to me). The frankenstein bits (none of which I like particularly on a mk1, but those seats are particularly hideous) added to it's shady history means it's a no from me.

He's being trying to sell for ages which also makes me suspicious - I am a naturally suspicious person though.............

This may well be a complete bargain for someone of course.

What's that plastic stuck on the end of the dash??
That'll be because the Mk1 instrument panel is shorter than the hole in the Marbella hammock then(y) Classy.
I do actually quite like the car, looks in great condition to be fair, and as a daily driver it's probably great, but unfortunately the owner doesn't seem to realise that 'restoring' it so far from original has ruined it for the people that would pay that sort of money. As for advertising it as 'concours'......

6€ would have bought a panda 45s tailgate badge....£12,000!!!!! Was it restored by Ronnie Biggs?

I just don't understand why you'd not update the V5 & Sorn it, assuming it's all legit. Actually I also don't understand why anyone thought those changes were a good idea, or how someone paid £12k for it to be done.

If it looks fishy, smells fishy, and swims around in circles on classic car websites......

It really could be a bargain for the work put in, but I guess I'll give someone else that opportunity. (y)

I would be too suspicious, 12 grand would buy a far more professional restoration im sure.

Having worked in a car restoration business I know how much it costs, you could easily spend £12,000 on any car if you want it totally stripped, rust repaired and repainted all over including the inside and underneath and not do any of the work yourself, there is alot of work there. A shame this one was ruined at the very end by fitting the Marbella stuff, still it is not hard to change the bumpers, headlights and interior so presuming all the bodywork has been done right it would not be hard to make it a very nice proper MK1
