The problem is no-one is buying them, the scrap/parts price is higher.

A Marbella just out of MoT but with tax sold for only £300, looked mint too.

I've got a 1987 Panda 1000 on eBay, no T&T, and a bit tatty, but runs and great potential for a restore, or stick an MoT on it and use as is.
Loads of watchers, but not a single bid.

I've also got a Marbella with tax and MoT that I was going to sell, but don't even know if its worth selling...

With such few Selectas on the road what they're doing is an automotive crime, and there isn't going to be the demand for parts either. (n)

It almost breaks my heart.... A Selecta is top of my FIAT wish list: but current circumstances (health; lack of space and time, etc....) mean it's just not practical, at the moment.... If I had somewhere to store one, nearby, then I'd be sorely tempted to rescue one.... :(

Between the Mrs and I, we own 3 pandas and a Marbella. We bought a half-stripped one for parts, and re-sold the rolling shell for autograss or something...

We've not got the time or space, so selling a few, had to sell the Uno 60s as well. I broke the Uno 60D, but didn't feel bad as that was completely rotten.

The Uno 60s was in great condition, yet went to a scrappy. :(
I bet the Panda and Marbella I'm selling will meet the same fate...

Pandas are selling and selling well.

Two things affect sales.

1) location

2) condition

Let's be honest, not many people are willing to by a panda needing an mot. Condition wise a clean panda would have half a chance, but having to spend money to bring one up to scratch will put people off. Imagine £80 on bits to get through mot..then £40 for the mot...then £200 on stuff to get it upto scratch. This is easy to do when you factor silly things like cleaning stuff and parts.

Your upto £620 already. I think people would rather not have the hassle and spend £700 on a mot'ed, taxed, clean inside and out panda.

Don't want to seem like I'm beating you up about this, but I feel this is why your having a problem.

Try a 99p start and you may find that people will start to bid and maybe get upto your sale price.

The issue is if I start at 99p it WILL go for scrap... I've had this with a few 'retro classics'.

Before I sold the Uno 60S I considered getting through another MoT, but it just wasn't worth it financially.
Even if it had only cost the £55 MoT fee (or whatever it is at the moment) plus the £70 for 6 months tax, plus the cost of insurance as a) I'd need it to get it to the MoT station, and b) you now legally have to have insurance if the car is taxed, that would mean I have to sell the car for £200-250 more than with no T&T. The scrappy won it on eBay for about £250 I think, so with MoT and a lot of hassle would I have been able to sell it for £500? ...doubtful.

Its the same deal with the Panda I'm selling now; I'd need to get back some £650-700 to break even with what I would get selling it to a scrappy for £250. Add on top of that renting a garage (as I need it moved) and a mechanic as I don't have time, and I'll need to sell it for £1500+...

You have just echoed what I'm saying...it's a problem I know.

Ask yourself this....scrap money or a parts car to keep another going??

That's what most people will be thinking I'm afraid.

Hiring a trailer is not cheap..then factor fuel etc etc... Sorry I think you may struggle.

Scrap and parts is one and the same nowadays... The scrappies strip them before crushing.

I don't really want to sell for scrap/parts, hence the slightly-above-scrap start price. I don't like seeing Pandas being destroyed for no reason.

The problem is the scrappies pay the highest price. I understand where you are coming from about buyers not wanting to pile money in, but any money I pile in is a waste as well.

Unfortunately this will be another Panda going for scrap.

Sorry to hear it.....I really am. I hope something works out.
