Panda (Classic) Yet another Parade!!!

Met the guy once....seemed like a good bloke.

Was going to start a thread about the amount of pandas on offer at the moment.

I don't think that I have ever known such numbers and choice being sold at once. Bargains to be had I think. Feel I should buy one...now which one??.. MK1 or the Dance??..

Both. If you take the plunge. I will.
 ooohh drama!

I tried calling to buy the dance in the classifieds left messages sent email but had nothing back even offered full asking price so I don't know what to do maybe its not for sale .... On its own . Or owner is away.

Shame about the rusty wheel arch, looks pretty tidy otherwise.

Don't know why he chose to show three pictures of the N/S, two of them could have been interior and engine bay.

I'm gonna bitch about overpriced Pandas again.

Guy wanted £1500 for this last year on ebay.
At the time it came with tax & MOT, plus you could get a few quid for the Eleganza alloys.

Ebay
Ooooh that is a nice Panda though, although starting price of £1400 is way to high, if starting price had been about £800 it could've been bid up to £1k...

Last April though? I would've thought closer to 1k, starting the bids at £1500 is surely too much even for today's prices

I don't think so, you'd have to spend a whole lot more on an inferior car to get it to that standard.
I would have started it at 99p with a £1400 reserve if was mine though.

No, about right, the 3 valuer's have now spoken....... anyone need any paperwork signed for insurance agreed valuation reports :p

Was easily worth £1200 last year.

Btw how is a link to a nearly year old listing working? I thought ebay delete them after 90 days

Haha....your right I think. I would settle on £1300 for the car. Vern has a point as well, try adding up the cost to get a car in that clean state...it soon mounts up.

Ebay tend to keep car listings on for a longtime nowadays, I think it may even be a year.

To be honest I didn't know the value of a Panda back then, I agree that now it could easily be worth £1500 but by starting the bids at £1500 the seller clearly scared everybody off (hence no bids)

Yes that's a nice looking Panda - probably about right as a finishing point, but people shoot themselves in the foot by not paying for a reserve. Vernon's got the hang of it - bait the 99p hook & reel em in at £4k!! ;)

Prices are going up significantly still for the better Panda's and the classic insurer's aren't blinking at £3k valuations (in deserved cases obviously  ).

I'm having issues with the prices now, as I still want to pay £600 for a really nice Sisley - apparently that's unreasonable......... :bang:

The good thing about these cars is that you CAN still get a bargain.

But not for much longer I fear. I amassed so many a few years ago because they were so cheap. I also feel that many more will disappear from our roads in the next two years going by the downward trend of most models on the how many left website. Even the later models are declining as the early ones already have.

Our pandas are a hell of a lot rarer than classic minis and look at the price of a 1990 basket case mini let alone a nice clean one.

Buy the best panda you can or make the one you have even better...they are a rare sight now...five years down the line they will command those mini price tags.

As for insurance I had no problem getting them to agree to value the Bianca at £4500.

I still can't get my head around why pandas are so undervalued
What can you buy for the money with so much character, charm and smile factor? A car in great condition like this one looks (along with the relative rarity) and Vernon's pickle have got to be worth £1500 of anyone's money. As far is I can see they will continue to climb and climb, especially the 4x4's when it's hilly :p
