I know he's not helping himself by leaving the finishing off to the new owner but he has been pretty unlucky with the two previous winners.

Overall this looks to be a well built car and should be worth the asking price, but without proving it by getting an mot and running it for a while he's gonna struggle I think.

Good luck anyway. (y)

Maybe we should take bets ;) I bet 5 times ;) unless there is something catatrophic stopping it getting an MOT clack

Not catastrophic but lengthy, fiddly and difficult to cost with a unique vehicle.

The car needs a cat to pass the mot which can be purchased on e bay for around £45 and should fit straight on
The horn needs connecting as a replacement steering wheel has been fitted
The washers on the wipers need fixing
A breacked for the ECU needs making or some way of fixing it down
A new battery would be good
And small bit of welding

Just out of interest VmanC, how much would you reckon to get it through an MOT?

Fair play to him for listing the faults, although there are a few things that seem a bit strange to me. (not bad though, and I am probably being overly suspicious) firstly, the cinquecento steering wheel has been fitted, why wouldnt the horn be connected up when the wheel was fitted? I dont understand why the bracket for the ECU wasnt taken from the donor car if everything else was. And lastly, "a small bit of welding" covers a multitude of sins! Also why has no cat been fitted after such an extensive conversion? Just for supposed performance sake?

Not that Im saying that others SHOULD be suspicious, but I can see why potential buyers would be put off by this. An engine conversion is a large and potentially very complicated task to undertake, when something as simple as the horn being connected up hasnt been done what does that imply about the rest of the modifications? Sorry if that seems harsh to people, I dont mean it to be, Im just saying :)

Yes, that's true.

As omm said if the horn isn't working what else isn't?

I hope the new owner turns up on here :)

Im not saying that something else isnt working as such clack :) , but its an extensive conversion, and it just seems strange to not do something as comparitively simple as connect up a horn, just food for thought is all, as Vern said we dont know the personal circumstances so maybe the conversion has been left unfinished due to something. That would explain the unfinished nature of the cat, the horn and the ECU.

I hope they turn up here too, I am very curious about this panda, for several reasons, but especially because it is the same model as mine! I would like to compare :)

It would definitely be quicker than yours....:p

no doubt :ROFLMAO:, :slayer: but if the conversion hasnt been done properly it will be driving quickly straight into the garage for a few months work :yuck:

but seriously though I am curious about this car's story, why and exactly what has been done and what the condition is actually like ;)

They lost me early in when I found it hadn't had the engine changed at the DVLA - he confirmed to me but didn't include the info on the listing which is a bit naughty.

Unfortunately I want a car put together by James May who would do the paperwork right. Much as I like JC I'd never trust a car he hammered together. It does look well executed BUT it's attention to detail you need - poor paperwork, no Mot, no real reason why it's never been burning off BM's on the M40!!

I'm a bit bored with it too - someone buy it for £500 and get it sorted!

My main worry if i were buying it is, unless they have private land, you cannot test drive it since it isn't at all road worthy. I can't imagine buying such a modified car without even being able to try it.

A very good point, I didn't even think of that
