Seller won't be able to stop the auction in the last 12 hours if there's a winning bid. He has a bit of a problem as he's obliged to sell unless the highest bidder agrees to retract the bid. I wouldn't be happy if I was a bidder!

Glad you got Terry though. (y)

The last 12 hours is the problem. If it was broken he can get a credit for the fees if both sides agree to withdraw from the sale. Much as I don't like Ebay, their rules do tend to stop people pulling an auction at the last minute.

You could always bid for it to help him if he's a nice chap - then you can both agree to withdraw?

I did have designed on using it to complete the 4x4 build as it needs a new trim and bonnet, boot, and a load of other bits that could be useful.

I don't think I could do that to him now though.

Boot lid is different but fits, the trim is also the same. The seats I need to check

Shame such a rare car won't be original..you can get trim to suit quite easily..boot lid may be harder but not impossible. Plus you would have to change the rear bumper and electrics for the number plate. Still it's your car and your choice.

Oddly most mk1 panels are easier to get hold of - a new hatch came up last year for a mk1 but was a bit pricey. There are far fewer mk1's left now so less competition - doors seem to be less holey too in general so they come up regularly - think there's a new one on the bay now.

wow wow wow, I haven't said i'm actually going to do this, just that I had been thinking about it.
Having checked and there being 51? selectors on the road, im a little less inclined to destroy it

I have an absolutely original K reg 1100 Selecta with 50,000 miles and a thick folder of service history. The original car has wheel trims and has never had a radio fitted. It's quite quick and has no rust whatsoever. It joins my old Tachini and a 1000CL that has lain in the back of the garage for 6 years without moving a wheel. Not many 1100 cc Selectas and worth keeping for a few years.

Sounds just like our white L-reg one with only 27k on the clock :)

Get a members motors thread up, I'd love to see some pics :slayer:
