This has been on ebay ages!
at least 29-May-12 but could have been longer.
Why no one bought yet? :(

It's a complete bargain for engine with ancillaries, gearbox and turbo.
I'm sure the last one I saw was a lot more expensive and had a lot more miles. Just think of all the parts that come with it, if you break it all down they would cost you thousands alone.

We just need to find someone with the mulla and danglies to do it... :D

Not really worth the money unless he can prove that it's a genuine abarth esseesse engine and not just a tjet engine (n).

Thanks

I was under the impression the Esseesse just had a different ECU to the standard Abarth anyway?

It's still not bad for a virtually brand new engine, box, turbo, clutch etc. and all the aircon bits an other junk could be removed and sold on. I'm sure if you price up the bits seperately it will be much more.

Can't see the Esseesse bit making any difference you'd pretty much need to go standalone or aftermarket to fit it anyway.

I personally think it's good value if you look at buying a stock 1.4 engine, gearbox, and then converting and uprating it all to a proper turbo with box too cope.

The esseesse versions are different between 500 and Punto. The variations are the parts that are upgraded but essentially the engines are the same afaik?

The Punto 'esseesse' upgrage changes are (engine wise):
??Garrett GT 1446 turbocharger ??
boost pressure from 1.3 to 1.5 bar
new water and oil pipes to the turbo
new exhaust manifold, heat shield,
complete injector rail
MAP sensor
boost sensor
modified catalytic converter
larger diameter exhaust
new intercooler pipework
adapted radiator pipe
new water pump
wastegate valve
BMC air filter
new engine ECU

The 500 Abarth esseessee mods are only BMC air filter and remap!! (there are other mods in the kit, but not engine wise)

Abarth Grande Punto esseesse: 180bhp@5750rpm, peak of 272Nm@2750rpm.
500 Abarth esseesse : 160bhp@5750 rpm, peak of 230 Nm@3000rpm
Normal Abarth 500 produces 135bhp@5500rpm, peak 206Nm@3000rpm

So if it's out of a 500, then it will make no odds if it's esseesse or not. It will if it's a Punto.

Should be easy to verify with the seller though. A 500 will use an IHI RHF3-P turbo, a Abarth Punto will use a Garrett GT 1446. Not sure if the esseesse uses a different turbo or not?

I have a mate who works for the local Fiat/Mazda/Seat service agent (things are a little different over here, more dealers than garages LOL) and he said it was some shiny bits and a remap for the 500 SS.

Thanks for the info Kritip looks like he was right. (y)

Think people are getting confused or me ?

T-Jet engine and Abarth engine are different.

Abarth and esseesse have the same engine, as esseesse is just a performance upgrade with no internal touch!

If that is an Abarth engine i think it is well worth the money!

what i meant was the punto essesse seems to be worth buying as a car due to whats changed, whereas a 500 essesse just seems pointless now i know after fitting a few mods and going for a remap you'd have more than and stock 500 essesse power wise. Bearing in mind if i bought the essesse i would probably do them things anyway it seems wierd to me that anyone would buy an essesse. I do understand they come with bigger brakes though which is always nice..

I personally think the engine for sale is well worth the money being asked, just need to know why said engine exists in the first place. Seems the only random thing to me about it. I would be messaging him if i wasn't financially crippled at the mo.
