When did somebody last try to hyjack a cinq?
TBH no, it wouldn't be reassuring for me, firstly if somebody was serious and you get in their way close up, bat or no bat you will be most likely stabbed or shot. The problem with a bat like that is its main use is over long distances, close up a baseball bat is considered a hinderence to your self-defence unless you are properly trained in the use of such an item. It's too large and requires a lot of momentum area to swing. To me, nothing I personally own is worth dying for AFAIK, if I feel I can't run I would have to back down, a bat under the seat wouldn't help me (also it wouldn't fit under my saddle
) If somebody intends to use similar during a road range incident they need their head checking! I can however understand the idea during a possible hyjack but 99% of people aren't in a position to defend themselves properly without increasing the risk to them.
Finally a simple normal theft lock would provide almost as much defence without the difficulty of having to explain why you were carrying such an item and using it like that. You know what the law is like....especially if the other side isn't similarly armed and somebody takes advantage of that situation.
I am not against standing up for yourself but can't see how this item would improve the situation, it would just look like (to a jury) that you were expecting trouble carrying such an item and on top of that (IMO) offer very little help in most situations.
I'd stick with my 4d cell maglite, the second choice for a police officer if they don't get their extendable hitting stick out first!
Of course I better write all of this is in my opinion!
