What's going on! I've never seen so many tidy Pandas on Ebay at one time.

I bet they had to give this one a good T cutting though. Watch out for the rust just starting to bubble on bonnet.

i'm happy to say i'm the proud owner of this little panda!
(well as of saturday when i go get it)

It's my first car and i wanted something with a bit of character.

I'm not too keen on the alloys myself but maybe when i see it they'll be ok.

Congratulations Yoshimisumi, it looks like a lovely example, and welcome to the Forum. (y)

Welcome to the forum, Josh!

Enjoy your car, looks a really nice Panda.

Cheers for now

Cheers everyone! i was suprised it didnt go for more myself.

i'm having abit of an issue with the insurance because of the alloys,

were they standard fit on a CLX? just it comes with another set of wheels and trims too.

cheers

Josh

no, the alloys would not have been standard. Would have been on steels with trims. Shouldn't be too disastrous for the insurance or are you still of an age where the insurance companies laugh and then add a zero if you install an air freshener:mad: If so stick the steelies back on and stash the alloys away for a year or two until you've got some no claims. Or flog 'em on I'm sure there would be a few takers on here(y)
have fun.
Andrew.

As the others have said, alloys were not a standard fit to classic Pandas. However, those wheels do look like genuine Fiat wheels that were available at extra cost from Fiat dealers. I have some 1980's Fiat catalogues somewhere and I'm sure I've seen those wheels available as genuine Fiat approved extras. They may be Speedlines? If you get any service history/ bills with the car check to see if you have a receipt showing they were bought from Fiat, maybe when the car was new. Otherwise just fit the standard steelies that comes with it to keep the insurance happy (y)

They wants more for alloys...!!
I asked WHY...because car is worth more? NO
because it changes car specifications and for example braking distans!!
so I said, what if I keep the same tyre size...no still you need to pay MORE...MORE ....and MORE!!

Right... as i suspected then.

yes im of age to be done over by insurance companies and adding £200 to a premium seems abit excessive.

i was going to 'temp cover' it for my dad to drive but i'm not sure i can justify it being worth £1500 and again unmodified... or am i just being pedantic.

more trawling the interent...

Hi Josh.

When I first got insured on my own policy I paid £1280.04 fully comp for my 1993 K-reg 1108cc Selecta (y)

Your price doesn't sound to bad, as the area you live can affect it. What level of cover is that for?

Oh, and welcome to FF

Jon.

Hi Josh, these are definately an add on. The CLX came with steelies and trims as standard. The CLX has lots of little Panda 'luxuries' and was one of the best kitted out UK Pandas ever produced (including adj mirrors, fuel injection/auto choke, door pockets, clock etc.).

Those wheels are gorgeous and shouldn't affect your insurance too much. In honesty, I didn't realise that they were looked at as a mod.

If you are not happy with them and as Y10 says, post them on the classifieds on here. I for one would love to buy them!

Don't forget to post some pics when you get the car.

Cheers

MARTIN
