Not very fair though that the scrappage allowance puts a premium price on a minter from a 'what might be an expected reasonable price of £1500 to nearer £2000'

Only thing in his favour is that he doesn't want to scrap it and would rather see it go to a good home.

I was over in Germany earlier in the year, where this scheme has been up and running for a while now.
The knock on effects are not good. Second hand car dealers are losing out along with the mechcanics. But it's the classic Golf owners, seeing perfectly good cars getting crushed and the second hand spares supply drying up already, who are really pissed.
