Yes it's mine, just bought Saxo VTR and want cash for a whole raft of upgrades. After 2 years restoring this car I've run out of energy. Should pass MOT with little effort. Anyone dare it give it a go, all rot has been cut out and done for you and compared with the 2 other Strada Abarths I've owned (1 which was apparently a very good car) this is much much better.

It is running just needs me to sort out the MOT but I really don't want to splash anymore cash getting insurance on it because I've insured this Saxo and really paying out on 3 cars is a bit much. If it does meet reserve I'll probably get the MOT in a couple of weeks.

Well the old girl didn't sell but did reach £1100 which isn't bad for a car without MOT. I've just totted up what's left to do and need to do the following:

Fit washer bottle
Shim up rear seat fixing
Clean dodgy light connector which is playing up
adjust handbreak
Fit smaller exhaust box, current one is too big for centre section.

I reckon 4 hours work in total at most.

Some little snaps of the old dear

Cheers :) I had 100 watchers at auction close but these cars attract a certain type of indivdual lots of mails about how much I want but the reality I've found when it comes to cars is that ebay seems to attract a bunch of dreamers who want cheap bargains or dissppear without a trace when claiming to come and view.

I refurbed my wheels with Nitromores and then polished up, not perfect but pretty good and cheap apart from my time. I got a brand new set of 185/60R14 in the garage waiting for me to find another set of Pirelli wheels which I should fit to make the car more original.

It failed on a numberplate light - a later model cluster was fitted where the numberplate light had been moved, a spare sorted that.

The other failure was a rough wheel bearing. See what happens if I get it through the MOT, probably buy 6 months tax and use over the summer.

Lack of rust lol :)

Yeah it's a good car, was great actually being able to drive it after some years off the road! It's much better to drive than B366RLM which was apparently a good car, this one isn't down at the back, not that that was a major issue, just had the wrong shocks on the rear and the leaf spring was a bit soft. Now to decide what to do with this one. I've kind of got into track days and after taking the saxo out I want something with some real grunt. The Strada is a bit too difficult to cheaply find replacement parts to really hammer round the track and would struggle at the top end like the Saxo. I'm thinking Fiat Coupe Turbo might be worth a try.

Cheap trackday car hey? swap for a 205? ;)

Thanks for the offer but the Saxo has that one whipped anyway. I was offered a 205 GTI in good condition, years MOT and tax for £250. Why I turned it down I don't know.

Left field choice a Metro with a 1.8 k-series engine bolt in conversion and they do shift

Quite fancy an MG Turbo but they're not that fast really, probably not much up on the Saxo but wouldn't handle as well and rust like buggers. My frst 2 cars were Metros, a MG which I rejetted, chucked a K&N on and fitted a Peco with the help of my Uncle and it really made it fly. Had the measure of the larger capacity XR2i with a few cheap simple mods. My Uncle did a great job of getting it running really sweat. I really was quite surprise the difference! Still fond of those little Metros.
