I love:

"CAN YOU AFFORD NOT TO!!!

THIS PRODUCT IS NOT TO BE USED TO BREAK THE LAW , SPEEDING IS ILLEGAL, so is tampering with your plate."

Hmmm, so why is the man selling a product ONLY intended for this with specific instructions on how to do this?!

Paul

Still it's almost worth getting (if it worked that is) muhhahahaa!! :D

But then I'm sure the police would rape you hard if they found you out! [xx(]

Or go down to Aldis, buy all the deodorant, repackage it, and sell it on eBay as above!!!

I think it is US TV, they show any old c**p over there. Aren't you glad our TV in this country is uniquely funded :D

I've seen this on BBC news, unbelieveably it works, not quite as well as in the picture but the letters were well distorted (unreadable anyway). Reason it was on the news was that the TV commercial (shown in America) was banned here although it is legal to buy, because of the disclaimer. It's not illegal to buy but it is illegal to use, because it is deliberately tampering with the plate and there is a law against that. Not that you will ever get caught... in theory!

might have worked when they tested it proubaly just after spraying it but what about in a few weeks when the shine wears off[?]

Good point it's not going to stay on indefinately is it. Then again paint does so maybe it does...

but paint goes dull, you used to be able to buy number plates that claimed to do the same as the spray but people who bought them still got nicked, serves them right.

Yeah you're probably right, just saying what I saw on the news they showed a picture from a camera the police had deliberately driven through too fast.

The trouble is, even if someone was to use it, how would you know it really really worked. Blat through a few speed cameras, then wait 28 days or so for the NIP to come through the door. If not, Day 29 blat everywhere............

I suppose you could always put false plates on - but then you wouldn't get the notice through - D'oh....

be carefule with this stuff, all a good operator has to do is reverse the image to a negative and bingo theres your number plate showing through the overexposed flash

Do gatsos use flashes anyway? (once I get this answer, I will have a look into it!)

Oh and speeding is wrong!;)

Gatsos do use flashes, and so does Truvelo.

Hand held gatsos don't, and SPECS will still get you over the measured distance.

I have no intention of buying this stuff, btw. But if the operator did reverse the negative, could I play the race card! Only kidding :p

Gatsos work by emmiting radar waves and waiting for them to bounce back off the reflective number plate. <- definately.

The flash that you see is the flash like on a normal camera when it takes a picture of your number plate so the police know who to send the ticket to. <- I think.

I would assume then that the 'flash' it is supposed to stop is the picture one not the radar one, since the camera still takes a picture.
