That Masport quadcut disc with its bolt on(?) cutters would have probably saved my mother's mower. More likely to fold back on impact.

Wasn’t it just. It would be very hard to fool everyone and involve people to such an extent to pull that off. No question though, Trump will use this to his advantage and milk every last bit of this circus.

Just like 90% of politicians then allthrough probably a bit worse with him ?

Excellent illustration of their cutting system Dave. The Rover was almost identical and both were the best wet grass cutters I've ever used. (unless we start talking about something like a Ferris or Simplicity) I think it's down to the disc in the middle preventing grass and air from cycling round in a spiral (like a mulcher does) so it has to go in the collector.

Masport also make a two blade design - called Quickcut? - and one of the 3 machines we bought came with that. It seemed to work just as well including working well on wet grass, even though it had no disc and only two blade tips.

The renewable blade tips turned out to be a bit of a mixed blessing. A set including nuts bolts and washers wasn't much saving compared to a solid bar blade for one of the conventional machines and the threads on the nuts could get damaged making the change over just a little more difficult. However we never suffered a bent crankshaft with one of these machines so I recon they were well worth it. Plus, of course, the wet grass performance which makes a very big difference when you are working commercially - You can't just wait for a dry day to go to work!

Trump has taken things to a new level though, he’s even saying that it’s a sign from god regarding him catching Covid and taking a certain drug that’s going to be free for all Americans, by doing this he is going to cure Covid in his country. Aye right  If this wasn’t so sad it would be funny.

Trump said the cocktail was a cure rather than a therapeutic measure, and promised to provide it free of charge.

In a statement, the drugmaker said that if an Emergency Use Authorisation (EUA) was granted, access to the treatment would initially be limited to about 50,000 patients.

"We expect to have doses available for 300,000 patients in total within the next few months," the company said.
Even if it is true, that is a tiny percentage of the (estimated) 331 million people in America.

Wonder what Trump's % shareholding in that company is...

Just goes to show UK got it wrong if its all normalish over there still

Yes, but the whole country is basically isolated.

I don't know what Boris could have done really - unless he was willing to shut down all the airports right at the very beginning, then it seems impossible to stop. Taiwan was only able to do this as no one was really against that - and China can't call the racism card.

You see now in the UK though, even after all the lock down - they open up and it just goes nuts again. It's not feasible to keep a whole country in lockdown forever, so where does it end....?

Same with German, France - all the countries that were saying they had handled it well.

The CDC here says they aim to vaccinate 60% of the population by the end of next year, that scares me - I don't want to be stuck here that long!!!

Also, if the vaccine never comes - what do we do?

@70% of the Welsh population are under 'special measures'

I cannot call it lockdown..as you can go to the pub

Scotland are talking about a 'circuit breaker'.

All off for 2 weeks..

Is 2 weeks long enough to STOP transmission..?

The Welsh restrictions on movement have not been well received.. but numbers of cases are now slowing to 'moderate' levels

The Cities seeing high numbers are 50%+ university students..

Why are they even there.. teaching has been online only since the spring..

They could get the same £9k + teaching in their bedroom at home..

My twinair is parked 40 minutes away at my sons.. 2 regions: zones away from my house

I could do with servicing it.. but no access
WE ARE ALL IN THE SAME 'LOCKDOWN'...
All of South Wales is..

So who am I protecting..

I can go out for a meal.. spend the day shopping..
Drive to Scotland..or England for Medical or Work appointments..
But not drive 30 miles to visit my son

YES ..I am obiding by the current rules..
But it does seem so half.baked

makes you wonder how the hell he passed his mca

Leaving the supermarket, there was a bloke just arrived, and applying sanitiser to his hands before getting out of the car.
Why? To avoid carrying the virus from his steering wheel to the trolley?
When he comes out, will he sanitise before driving home, or only when he arrives?

Just seen outside, a guy walking his dog. He has his face mask lifted up onto his hair, like people do with glasses. So any virus in the air, on his hair, will now be inside the mask.
It's the same with people having them around the neck. Oh, and wearing them in the rain. If a mask is damp you're constantly breathing moist air into the throat making it even more likely that if the virus is knocking around it will take a liking to the damp mask wearer.

People not wearing masks properly really does wind me up. I wear mine properly all day at work and I do a 12 hour shift!

If they havent got it on properly then it reminds me of this cartoon which may have been presented earlier in this thread before I arrived on the forums.
(Hopefully as its a simple sketch it doesn't break forum protocol too badly... )

I do get it, masks are a thing of annoyance for some. I suppose we are lucky up here as not so many people, and if I’m honest the only time I come across mask wearers is when I’m out shopping, which is once a week. People here tend to wear them properly. Our wee village is not busy at the best of times, and we seem to chug along quite happily. Mind you, I’m getting a bit lazy and tend to take things easy at the moment.:)

Choose a supermarket half-way between.
Both go shopping at the same time.
Swap cars.

Frayed knot

We would both be in the wrong area then..
Caerphilly.. about to have its restrictions extended again

Its a joy isnt it..

Regarding the mask wearing..

Im all for it.. if only I could find one that

A: Stayed in place.. no oily hand prints from constant adjustments

B: was sealed enough I could see past my Safety specs

9 hours a day at work is a good testing ground.. and no I cannot make a properly tailored one of my own.. because it isnt to the correct accreditation.

Have you tried a moulded dust mask, without valve?
https://www.screwfix.com/p/disposable-half-masks-p2-5-pack/682kh
That's an example, other are of course available at widely varying prices.

As I understand it, the standard 'medical' masks are only P1, if graded at all. A P2 mask is therefore better. I haven't found a P3 without a valve, so not good for covid, just for dust in working environments.

If it is for work, you could go full respirator, air-fed filtered mask. Like a modern gas mask, or like paint sprayers use. Not so good for supermarket trips.

I actually have a 3M fan driven hood

(From the Carbon Fibre days)

TBH if you are Standing its ok.. the noise of the belt carried fan : filter is ok.. earplugs to a fair job

Its tilting your head.. bending over when the weight gets cumbersome

The pic I posted of a mask box.. that is what we are issued ..supposedly level 2..

Not looked into it.. as we were not allowed back onsite until these were available..
So I will just 'stick with the program' ;)

Hope you do better in the car.. :)
