Coronavirus - The Thread :(

People are dying because the tools we have are not being used correctly.

Hydroxychloroquine works as a prophylactic against malaria because it stops the immune hyper response. It does not cure malaria. It wont do anything if given too late. It is also given to people with rheumatoid arthritis as it reduces the veracity of the immune system. People take it for many years with few negative symptoms. The side effects are well understood.

Covid triggers a blood clotting disease that pretends to be a lung disease. Once it takes hold, those who who get severe symptoms suffer with blood clots and other auto immune problems. Chronic fatigue and multi organ damage are common in that cohort.

The logic for HCQ is to avoid the immune hypereaction that causes the most severe symptoms and kills people with pre-existent health problems. The question is not "does it work?" but "Why is it not being allowed?". The symptoms it is blamed for causing are exactly those that Covid-19 causes.

When a person gets to that stage they are toast. Pump them up with Remdesivir (recently approved in Canada) or any other anti viral, but it wont make any difference. Just as HCQ or black magic won't help. It's too late - the damage is done. Bye Bye Auntie Maud.

HCQ is not being allowed because we have an unholy alliance between big medicine and the political left. The former that wants an expensive treatment they can sell. The latter decries anything the Orange Man suggests.

This is not right Malaria is a parasite not a virus, and in the case of malaria the drug is shown to kill the parasite, and even prevent the parasite’s transmission, it has nothing to do with immune hyper response

I work with hundreds of people every year with all manner of autoimmune disorders and I can count on one hand the people who are on hydroxychloroquine

There are steroids that can be used and are much more effective in preventing immune responses.this is a virus so no matter what stage you are in the illness anti viral drugs will and do help. This is why ITU units up and down the uk are using anti viral drugs and steroids.

So once again if hydroxychloroquine was any use in treating the condition it would be recommended by the people on the front line or those performing the studies, but it’s not, the only people recommending it are loonies who claim to use alien DNA to treat patients, and think diseases are spread by having sex with demons in your sleep, oh and the great tangerine and chief.
A man you hypothesised the use of injected bleach and bright lights to treat it.

I found it a bit strange the virologist on the radio giving advice was from John Innes they make Fertiliser. so i googled it and found out plants get viruses.
so if a virus can mutate from animal to human why not plant to mammal, got to be a conspiracy there some where.

Ha! All the vegetarians are doomed!!!

I'm spending a lot more during lockdown than when it is not, since I have nothing to do I always spend my time shopping online.

Me too, but weirdly despite having bought a lot of new stuff, I seem to still be better off as I’ve not been paying the daily commuting costs and daily lunch costs and not eating out so much, not having takeaways and even now I make my own dinner for work and bring coffee from home rather than risking going in to pay £3 for a coffee so I’ve definitely saved a fortune

We've been back doing our weekly supermarket shop for a couple of weeks now. All through the lockdown, and for a bit afterwards, our oldest boy did our shopping for us because he was/is terrified we are going to catch the virus.

We never really make a detailed list to take with us, just wander round the shelves taking what we need, so making a list for him was quite a novelty. Whilst he's been doing the shopping we've saved an absolute fortune and we realize now that its because we are not picking up all the "rubbish" we usually do! Crisps, the odd chocolate bar, two instead of one pack of choc chip cookies, etc, etc. We are resolved to make, and stick to, a list from now on. Wonder if we'll manage to keep to it?

We are kind of the same Jock, but my daughter tends to put some “goodies” into the shopping basket, but that’s fine. :D If I’m honest we have never eaten so well before. Weekend was wine and a nice meal, but we are nearly doing this seven days...

I saw a little of the TV news yesterday

Issues in the N.W. of England

Scotlands 1st minister advising scots to stay away..and if already there.. limit exposure..ideally shorten your stay

Are the M6 services through the region staying open ?
