Coronavirus - The Thread :(

If the vaccine works you have nothing to worry about. I’m going to rely on my immune system.

What, like all the poor sods who have been killed by it todate, over 100k in the UK alone.

You bloody idiot!

Perhaps you should go out and catch it and see how you get on (y) :bang:

Nobody will take responsibility for the thousands of small businesses that have lost their jobs and homes, the tanking economy, the mental health issues caused by the never ending lockdowns.

No, not like there haven’t been billions in handouts, furlough scheme etc

Perhaps people will learn the hard way and have a rainy day fund rather than expecting everything on handouts and constantly living on the never never!

And don’t start on mental health, yes it’s hard for a lot, but a lot easier than having COVID. I know what I’d prefer, as do most others.

As was said in the first lockdown, you’re being asked to stay at home, not fight on the front line in a war.

We’ve more home tech, streaming services etc, than ever to keep us entertained. Some are just never happy however :bang:

Whatever the subject, there'll always be some who think they know better, and everyone else is wrong. Sad fact of life.

I can only assume for the majority, they aren't able to use logical reasoning.

Take the example of 100k deaths. With months of lockdowns, social distancing, mask wearing, hand washing etc, being complied with by 95% of the country, still over 100k people have sadly lost their lives. That's not to mention the thousands more that are now suffering the long term affects of covid, and the hospitals full to capacity (as mentioned above, speak to those of us who work in the hospitals, and we'll tell you the truth).

What state would we be in now if we had done nothing, just let every one "live their lives"?

I have no doubt we'd be talking about over a million dead, and the health service collapsed.

Sadly, this virus is a russian roullete. Some have no symptoms whatsoever, others get sick and have health problems for months after. Others sadly die within a few days.

Last week in ICU we had a young man in with covid, with no health issues, lived and ate healthily, he thought he wouldn't be affected.......he died 3 days later. Now his family are blaming themselves because they didn't follow the health advice.

In an ideal world, I wouldn't even go near the "russian roullete pistol", but every time I leave my front door I have to face that chance it might be me, so I do my best to avoid any potential that I could catch the virus and possibly die, and more importantly, reduce the possibility I may inadvertently give someone the virus, and have their death on my conscience for the rest of my life.

If the vaccine works you have nothing to worry about. I’m going to rely on my immune system. I’m not imposing on others way of life or their right to have their views or decide their medical choices. But many will impose their controlling nature on people like me by demanding I cant travel freely and cant work. So please feel free to trust the vaccine, and thanks Jack for your condolences. But please remember people are still free to have their opinion and make their own choices in life.

Darwinism at work.

I went to the shop today, retail park area with a diy shop, McDonald’s, pet shop and electrical store. I saw at least 3 groups of kids with their cars gathering around and chatting, one guy with an older Maserati revving and driving up and down, he then stopped and was revving it up and the kids with their fiestas all gathered round and started taking photos (at this point I was putting fuel in the car so had a great view of all the idiots, people not wearing masks, dozens of cars had stopped to get fuel with bikes on the roof (not exaggerating there where dozens) all i’m sure believing they are sticking to the government rules.

I know of at least one 26 year old at the moment who was otherwise healthy but now is so severely critical it’s almost guaranteed they will die, I think they are giving this person much more time and chances than they should because of their very young family, and I know in that instance it was people getting together at Christmas who spread that.

Anyone who thinks there own immune system is definitely going to fight it, is being shown time and time again by the stories coming out to be very wrong indeed but then there is no hope for people who are buying into the the Donald trump era anti media, lack of common sense narrative.

They get all overly sensitive about being called names or having it pointed out that they are idiots but sadly as we are not dealing with logic or reason we have to just give up call them the idiots that they are and move on to talking to people who do have half a brain cell and do want to know what’s really going on

Sounds like Thetford, and that’s just the t**t laps around the car park :p

So tragic. I recall reading online recently about a 28 year old girl, went into hospital with appendicitis, caught COVID while in there iirc, and died suddenly :(

I wonder what is going to happen when the pubs re open and they start spouting all this rubbish in real life, more work for a&e i reckon.

I said before, back in my day if started blathering this nonsense, you would be turfed out the pub with a slap, even more if you still went on about it.

What we all need to do is down vote these idiots when they appear here and with enough down votes there posts disappear

It only takes five dislikes and the post is hidden.

It's heartening to see that all the deniers, covidiots and anti-vaxxers aren't finding an audience here; even folks who generally would be arguing with each other are joining together to reject their ill-informed, misguided postings.

Keep staying safe, everyone.

Sir toms daughter Hannah has posted, on her father's Twitter account, that her father has been admitted to hospital on a general ward for help with his breathing .

Yes fingers crossed for him.
Yes sorry my error.

As Dave says sir Tom is not in intensive care but is in hospital.

Sir Tom has been having treatment for pneumonia which meant he couldn't have vaccine jab.

He has tested positive for cv19.

Today he was admitted to hospital to receive help breathing on a ward but not in intensive care/therapy unit.

Best wishes to all.

That's really depressing. I don't know why but that's really affecting me this evening.

It's a huge struggle at the moment with working from home and home schooling 3 kids. I, like everyone else, feel like I'm now doing 4 jobs badly instead of one :)

The longer this **** goes one the harder it is to find something bright so hearing the news about Colonel Tom is rough. I can't really figure out why as I don't know the bloke and got pissed off at the time with the fake celebrity fawning that went on around him.
