And Again Windows phones don't get a look in?
The only way i can successfully use this forum is on the desk top version where everything is the size of a micron.
All my mates use windows based phones, and the i phones popularity is diminishing because of cost and problems........and the lack of a usb socket for easy file transfer.

The zune all over again IMHO mate sorry, Android is the only OS which is flourishing currently

How to force it back to desktop site on my mobile?

Does work really slow on my Android based phone, keeps throwing me back to top of the page and the top shearch box, top main box and logo are misaligned and zoomed in badly. What does that fat cat do there?

On the menu, click "pc mode", it will then force it back.

I'd like to try and solve the problem though, what phone and android version you running? Also the browser and if possible a screenshot.

Sounds like JavaScript issue again (like we had with the nokia)

Fat cat! Ha, that's a wombat, I tag all my new designs with it :)

I'm sorry iPhone popularity is diminishing? The iPhone 6 and 6+ are the best selling phone Apple have ever made lmao.

Ok done a few little tidy ups and got the cool wall showing.

I'm thinking now, it's much easier to work with a mobile skin than the app, however the app does have good uses.

But what would you guys think about:

I wrote a new app, which has just 2 purposes..

1. Receive notifications and alerts which direct you to the mobile site (the usual, new pm, new reply etc etc)

2. Allow you to "share to". So like now, if you are viewing a photo in your phone gallery, you can "share to"Facebook, but this would allow you to "share to" a new thread (create new thread and attach it). Could possibly share to existing too, although that would be a little more complex.

So basically the app would change from being a full on reader, to just a "helper" app.

I'm not bothered about installing an app. From your description, the benefits are peripheral at best. The new mobile site is great. I hated the old one and only ever used the desktop site on my phone even though it meant lots of pan & zoom. Do you really need an app?

It's to the right of the "last post X by X" text (the blue arrow)

Ah right, I'm glad it is still there but it is too small to see / press on my S4mini. Could it grow a bit bigger? Same goes for the little speech bubble for replying to specific posts.

Don't forget though that clicking on the thread title takes you to the first unread post anyway. That makes the (tiny!) blue button redundant for me. I wasn't sure if that was a good idea at first, but ask yourself how often you want to do anything other than carry on with a thread where you last left off? +1 to Ben from me.

As long as the page numbers for a thread show up somewhere, that gives good enough access.

I had wondered about that, on my phone it resizes everything bigger to fit to a virtual 320 wide.

I'll go down carphone warehouse later and try some other phones.

Saying that though, they are the same size images as used on the main site, so I wonder if your phone is shrinking them..

Nokia 920. Too small to be usable, especially if nestled in with other hyperlinks. Btw, page back & forward buttons at top of page are good. Easy to see & press :)

Ah yes, I see. Could you also screen shot me the thread view page too (with the reply thanks like etc)

Do a refresh now, I made them a little bit bigger. Can't do too much or they become too prominent...

Nokia 920 again. Could you put in a 'freeze pane' (that's what it would be called in Excel anyway) immediately above the orange thread title bar, so that the page navigation is always visible. Or make it pull down from the top of the screen?

As for the blue button - could you repurpose/dual purpose the thread badge/shield thing next to the thread name into a button instead? Would declutter a bit

That could work, I'll try that over the weekend.

Switching the blue right arrow to the shield though wouldn't be very obvious and I doubt anyone would find it (without being told).

Thanks for the screen shots though, I'll use them to line up my android emulator sizes :)
