Is there a 3rd party Headunit cage to fit a Double Dinn 7" touch screen into the Abarth Punto Evo dash..?

If the standard headunit which comes with the car gets removed what would I lose e.g. Bluetooth etc

I may be wrong but I believe the headunit is a single DIN size once removed so you wouldn't be able to fit a double DIN unit.

You would loose all of the Blue&Me functionality so, Bluetooth, iPod control, voice commands etc.

Looking at that picture, you probably could make a double DIN fit but nothing 'off the shelf' would work, it would be a custom job.

I've measured mine before and the only way you could do it would be to lose the buttons above the radio so you are right. It would be a very custom job.

Thanks for the replies, i'll have to stick with a single dinn & sell my
DD 7" touchscreen headunit on Ebay :(

were did u find the trim arround the head unit so it doesnt look outa place like when u put a differnt head unit in a standard car u get the trim so it fits propperly?

This is what I've done and I just run it through the AUX in.

Nice install, but you may get stopped with an Ipad 2 on the dash as it's a distraction while driving.

I'm not gong to change the Headunit as the standard ICE is good enough for me. (y)

They'd struggle to accuse me of anything as the only time I ever have the iPad mounted when driving is when the SatNav App is running. That can't be a distraction otherwise TomTom would be out of business :D

It works quite well to be fair. It sits low enough on the dash that it doesn't obscure my vision at all (the same can't be said for a sucker mounted sat nav) but is high enough that I don't need to look directly at it to see the directions. That is the beauty of the big screen. I've never had anything else running on it whilst driving. Despite being asked by passengers to 'put a movie on' as it would distract me.

And yeah you are right, the standard system is more than enough for most of us (y)

I know this thread is two years old, but could you maybe give a link to where I can find a mount that fits in place of the B&M tomtom..

It can be done as someone in Italy has got a Double Din in their Evo, Looks very nice. I'm going to go for this and may have to do a custom install.
