Iv just bought a Grande Punto Sporting 1.4 16v which doesnt have the spare wheel! Tight Gits! Its the 17" size wheels.. I have read a tread on here about fitting a full size 17" into the space provided, but struggling to find one for less than £100!

Now I did read somewhere and now cant find it, about fitting a Steel rim 15" with either a 185x65x15 or 175x65x15 tyre instead... has anyone done this, is this ok, safe etc? Im supposing it is as the tyre depth makes up for the difference in rim size??

Any thoughts?

You have posted in the Abarth section, also no grande Puntos come with a spare wheel, sealant and other bits.

Best bet is ebay to find one cheap or the classifieds here.

Need to make sure that the steel wheels clear brakes, try a scrap/breakers yard

If you get a GP steelie you should be okay with original bolts
Just be careful as others like the punto (not grande) Uses a different pcd so you'd need a set of wobblies too!

Also
This guide should help if you go to a 15" spare, you need the spare to be roughly same size as the 17's
Just google tyre difference size calculator

loads of java based items to calculate the maths stuff for you :)
