Abarth recently renewed the 595 at a detailed level.
The 695, which is just a bit more intense than the 595, has now also been given a makeover and will be released immediately in a special edition limited to 1,390 copies: the Collectors Edition.

That number 1,390 does not come out of the blue.
The 695 Esseesse Collectors Edition will be available in two color schemes: 'Scorpion Black' and 'Campovolo Grey', both limited to - yes - 695 copies.

The special 695 first distinguishes itself from the 595 by a 25 percent lighter aluminum hood and a fairly prominent roof spoiler.
It is adjustable in an angle from 0 to 60 degrees.
According to Abarth, the spoiler contributes to extra stability.
In the most aggressive position, the spoiler provides an additional downforce of 42 kilos at 200 km/h.

Passengers behind are then pointed out by means of large Abarth letters on the underside of the spoiler that this is a fast 500.
The 1.4 T-Jet in the 695 Esseesse is just as strong with 180 hp and 250 Nm of torque as in the 595 Competizione, but the car weighs 10 kilos less, partly due to the aluminum bonnet.

In addition, the 695 features Koni shock absorbers, a titanium Akrapovic exhaust and a Brembo braking system with ventilated discs all around.
The sprint to 100 km/h is completed in 6.7 seconds and the top speed is 225 km/h, provided the spoiler is adjusted to 0 degrees.

As standard, Abarth delivers it with a manual five-speed gearbox, but a robotized sequential gearbox with paddle shifters is available as an option.

On the outside, the 695 Collectors Edition can be recognized by the white details in the front and rear bumpers, the white striping on the sides and the matching white side mirrors.
In the interior, Abarth sprinkled liberally with Alcantara and carbon fiber.
The headrests of the black sports seats with red stitching read 'one of 695' to emphasize that you are dealing with a special variant.
To top it off, Abarth fitted red belts.

Abarth does not yet mention a price for this special bomb, but you can count on it that it will cost more than 40 grand. (Dutch Price)
The 595 Esseesse 70th Anniversary already cost €43,020. (Dutch Prize)

4 more.

I love Abarths, I've had four of them, but I don't know why they don't do a proper upgrade. The T-Jet engine has been a round, in one form or another for years.

It needs the Firefly engine and a 6 speed box.

New special editions just don't do it for me. We all know the Fiesta ST is better and now the GR Yaris. They need to do better to compete. They're lucky that there are a few of us around who don't want to follow the herd and go for something different.

Mind you, if we could get away with such as small car again, I'd buy a Comp at the drop of a hat

The only extra ordinary thing is the engine hood made of aluminium....

Now I see the press vehicle is equipped with winter tires...because in another photograph posted in a German forum, I saw only the brand and it was "Mirage", a cheap Chinese tire manufacturer and I was really wondering...seems to be the W562 tread.
