I know somebody that runs the offset 35 wheels with these 215/40R17 tyres and the standard Turismo suspension setup and he has no problems with rubbing.
I will try 225/35R17. I got a cheap wheel (in the same size like my summer wheels) from ebay and also an used tyre and I will test it in some weeks when I will remove the winter tyres...

The 215 tire fit better IMHO on a 7J wheel.
Yes you are right. But my wheels are 7,5 inch wide as this are not the original esseesse wheels. They are copies from IWD.

So the wheel on the scale is 7.5J with 215 tire. ??
No that´s the "test-wheel" Borbet BS in 7,5x17 offset 35 with the 225/35R17 Kumho KU39 tire. My summer tires are white IWD 7,5x17 offset 35 with 205/40R17 stock Pirellis.
But surprisingly those wheels are much heavier....neither the Pirelli is so heavy, or the the rims...
I personally don´t want to further increase the rolling circumference of the wheels. With the 225/35 it decreases slightly, but stays more or less in the area of the 205/40.

Yesterday I was at my local TÜV center and mounted my test wheel. The engineer said that he sees no problems to officialize the tire size in my car´s documents.
The only thing now is I´m not sure which brand to choose:

Still wonder if that tire size will fit with the Original OEM 7Jx17" ET38 wheel.
From ETRTO point of view not, but if stretching works on too wide rims, why shouldn´t it work in the other direction?

When my speedo show 105 Km/h, it's real 100 Km/h GPS.
I don´t care for the speedo, it´s more for acceleration as it is and stays stock regarding the engine.
