Our A500 got an advisory for worn ball joints on both front suspension arms. Our local garage said ball joints are not a bolt on / bolt off type and quicker to change the arms complete.

Checking seems there are to types of suspension arms, one if you have projector headlamps and other if on standard halogen like we are.

If not using genuine spare arms, what brands with part numbers are A500 owners preferring as there seems too much choice and price per arm vary hugely.

Any help appreciated.

If you've not got hid, then all the arms are the same, how long you keeping the car? Forever? Then buy Lemforder a few years buy any cheap ones. Note the Lemforder ones come with a new pinch bolt that must be replaced, it's a bumper off job and dismantle the bumpers supports/beams and forward chassis legs
What year is the car?
Cheap left and right £26 ea

Lemforder pair £168; https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2x-Lemfo...e:Fiat&hash=item48b08d7156:g:1iAAAOSwjVVVt3px

Note the Arbarth seems to have different arms to the rest of the range

Note IF you're likely to keep the car "some time" I would strongly recommend renewing EVERY part of the front suspension, arms springs shocks drop links mountings etc, it might seem overkill but trust me its worth it.

Try shop4parts, they stock genuine and Magneti Marelli.

Donate to the forum and you'll get a discount code to use on their site.

S4P have no stock of genuine, but have Marelli ones. I already use S4P past 11 years and always good support via fccuk for my 20VT Coop.

Thanks for your comments and advice. It’s a MY 2014 standard A500 with the Koni FSD suspension front and rear plus other options. Has halogen lights and not HID. Present front suspension arms have done 50k miles and not been changed, so have the drop links and top mounts. Shocks and springs are bullet proof front and rear. As it’s to be kept for many years as just done the belts and WP rather get quality arms as you suggest. Noted on front bumper removal and the pinch bolt.
