I recently fitted a cruise control to my 595 and am surprised how much difference it makes to the average MPG. Just shows how much of a lead foot I obviously am!

Was this an aftermarket kit?

It still surprised me that fiat did not fit cruise control to any 500 models till 2015, while the likes of vauxhall and ford would put it on everything as standard feature, as with these new cars with electronic throttle, it only costs as much as the stalk on the steering column which when you produce cars buy the thousands add very little to the overall build cost and makes customers feel they are getting a bit more for their money.

Yes, it was an aftermarket kit by John Gold (GC90Ci). I think it’s only now that Fiat are fitting cruise control to 500’s as my 2016 500 Lounge didn’t have one.

It still isn't standard and is an option, prior to 2015 it wasn't even an option.

That’s interesting as when I ordered mine, the dealer said it wasn’t available.

Always use cruise control if you can it saves money on long runs, look at the instant fuel consumption when on and off you'll see the difference.

Was cruise control difficult to fit? I’d love to add this to mine.

No it was quite simple really, but you need to ensure you get the right software version to match your car year.

Apologies for jumping in on an old thread but... how easy was, err, easy? and I assume that could risk any warranty.

What age and spec?


If the ECU supports it
Then it is not too complex.

Basically fitting a FIAT stalk. Plug it into the loom.
And get all the new kit talking with software.
