i cant remember if id posted anything on here about my new toy as i aint really been on here for ages.

anyway i finaly went for the a500 and i collected it from platts in april.

best purchase iv ever made and dont regret it at all.

they offered me 1400 for my punto and i didnt think that was enough.

..Then while i was deciding what to do, i was at the lights and a woman drove into me pushing me into the van infront. In the end insurance paid me 3300 and i bought the car back offthem for a couple of hundred pounds. was lucky to be honest.not bad considering i bought the car 3 years ago for £3450.iv kept the punto, got it repaired looking new again and i use it for work.

My dad handed over his beloved fiat tempra which needed work on so i could use it for the government scrappage.

Even though my user name is salvos yellow punto it should be salvos white abarth and yellow punto lol but i dont know how to do that.

I went for BNW, red chequered roof, scorpion, cloth seats, red mirrors and stripes.

I was meant to be keeping the car low mileage but in 3 months iv come up to 2500 miles already as i end up driving around just for fun.

so please keep an eye out for me ,im still in dudley so youl spot me in punto or the abarth.give me flash :) il post pictures up.

Welcome to the club. Only 4, 600 on mine since last November but God, it's been good!

Nice one! i Just picked my a500 up yesterday! I've already got 100 miles on the clock! It's the best car ever. Couldn't be happier!

It's a great forum.

You may notice Im not there anymore

Its very heavily moderated, I found someone who could do some aftermarket work on the Abarth & posted the details, It was deleted & I was told in no uncertain terms that as they werent a site sponsor I couldnt even mention their name let alone what they could offer. When I posted to the effect that did members know etc I was instantly banned & the mods wouldnt even discuss it.
Its a shame really as the Abarth is a great car that creats passion, its fun but the forum dedicated to the car should be a free place & an open fountain of knowledge free to all, sponsors pay for the site so need preferance to advertise run various promotions & group buys. Obviously the forum needs to be moderated but not censored for commercial gain of certain parties. Ive since had a few e-mails from other members over things that have happened so all I can say is enjoy the forum, they are a great bunch but what you read may not always be all there is to know on a subject.

Thanks for the info, I was totally oblivious to this.

Everyone understands the need for moderation and sponsorship but it's very poor form that this affects what you can and cannot post.

i was banned from there last year for commenting about the over zealous moderating...still have a browse there occasionally but its not balanced at all -freedom of publication is not a concept they understand.

Oh that explains alot !!!

While I patiently (in the extreme) await the release of the Abarth here in Oz I have scoured that Abarth forum for information and have found it frustrating - especially given the fact they would not let me join as I was a "foreigner" !!! So I have joined the equivalent Italian forum and found far more information and assistance

All I need now is an Abarth !!!!!!

yeah...i agree - for example, enquiring over there about boosting your power - well, unless you want the TMC box added then you wont be happy - they wont even discuss chipping or any other company except TMC with their over complicated piggy-back box.

Thanks, so Im not the first

That explains a lot so if anyones interested Jabbasport can add a bit of SS style performance to the stock Abarth http://www.jabbasport.com/about_us.php
I know they specialise in VAG cars but I have used them for years on many cars & can vouch for the service. Their base software is Italian & they have constant support from Italy should they need it ;) ;)

thread cleaned, we have 1 simple rule here
You may not use discussions to recommend, praise, or belittle other products or services, or any company; without first hand experience of those products or services.

this we think is fair,

No problem with that (y)

I've tried getting an account setup on Abarthisti about 4 times now, I never recieve the approval emails lol.

All I want to do is look at some of the cars...

Now that makes me feel good - I applied twice with no reply.

I wrote back with a gentle nudge, only to be told about not accepting members outside of the UK.

If all you want is look at the some tasty Abarths - join the Italian forum Cinquecentisti and have a peek at the Garage

It is quite annoying as I wouldn't mind reading up (with pictures) on the newer cars and quite like the more model specific forums. I probably wouldn't have ended up with the HGT if I wasn't a member on PuntoMk2.

Guess I won't be using Abarthnatsi to consider a future purchase!
