Tuning Abarth Question: BMC Air Filter

Is there any way of improving the factory airbox layout at all?

ie getting some felxi piping to draw cool air from the lower grill at the front of the car directly into the airbox?

From the little experience and understanding with turbocharged cars, most people go for a open filter to help turbo spool up and seeing as the intercooler lowers charge temps where as NA tuners go for enclosed items.

Has anyone had any experience with enclosed filters on turbo applications?

All n/a applications I ever have designed or open filter systems and have outperformed any enclosed systems.

The difference between a forced induction air intake and a n/a intake (in simple terms) is induction length. On a forced induction the intake should be as short as possible.
