I am currently working on the metalwork under the tailgate and finding it extremely rusty. It appears that Fiat expected water to collect above the engine bay and left drain holes in the cross-member to allow it to get away. It obviously lingers and caused corrosion.
Can anyone say if the water only gets in when you open the tailgate or is it continuous problem? If that's the case I'm thinking of fitting drain pipes as I repair it.
