I'm beginning to finish up my 850 spider, and recently purchased a new turn signal/high-low beam switch assembly, which didn't work. It was crap out of the box, and it's been a while since I bought the thing, so I'll eat the cost and not attempt the return.

Having a known good unit with a broken turn signal arm, I opted to repair that instead, and reinstall it on the car.

The results are pretty good actually. I used JB Weld to fill in the holes and to mate surfaces together, and drilled a hole in both broken pieces in order to fit a metal rod (a nail with the head clipped off) in as reinforcement. I filled both holes with JB Weld prior to rod insertion, mated the two pieces together, and let it cure overnight.

Once the excess JB Weld had been sanded down, and after lightly sanding the remaining bits, I painted it all with spray paint meant for plastic.

In all, I think it came out really well. See the video at

Great repair and vid Grubeguy....well done, neat.
I have the same problem with my 71 Sedan, but they have yet to part company.

Looks like your repair will be done before Spring.

Actually, I'm looking at completing the car by the weekend. I'll be getting licence plates tomorrow and taking it for its first test run in the evening. After about 7 years, I'm excited :) :) :)

Interesting about your turn and lighting stalk not working. I had the same problem and found that the unit had two similarly coloured wires switched. After I changed them to the correct way around in the Molex plug the unit worked fine.
