Technical Rear boot unlocks on its own

Hi,

Yesterday something strange happened. I stopped to unload my rear boot and when I closed the tailgate, it closed properly, it locked properly and I could hear the "bzzzz" of the mechanism. But while walking away from the car, I heard it unlock, as if I had double-pressed the boot unlock on my key fob.

I went back to the car, re-closed the tailgate but the same thing happened again, over and over again. For no apparent reason, a few seconds after closing/locking the tailgate, it unlocks on its own.

I went back home with the boot unlocked, and with the red light clearly showing the boot as "open". Once I switched off the car, the boot closed and locked fine and never unlocked on its own since then.

I've had similar issue with the indicator lights operating to show lock and unlock. Sometimes they either don't flash and/or the side lights (at least front) flash instead.

Wierd like yours.

An as you have found out stopping the car/ignition cycle resets the correct operation.

We have had exactly the same issue. I find that if I unlock, then lock all of the doors a couple of times using the fob the tailgate shuts normally and stays shut.
