I am in Los Angeles, USA.

I am planning to buy a used Fiat 500X or 500L.

Questions:

1. Any year that I should avoid?

2. What are the major problems and big maintenance that I need to be aware of between 0 and 150,000 miles?

3. Any other concerns that I need to be aware of?

Thanks

I am pretty flexible of the exact model.

My main goal is to find something affordable, practical, and easy to maintain without any difficult / tricky problems until 150,000 miles.

Thanks

does anyone happen to know the cylinder head torque setting on e.torq 1.6 engine?

and yeah, my e.torq 1.6 engine have an exccesive carbon buildup (the mechanic said that from his experience its happening because the oil is penetrating the rings, and bcause its a direct injection fuel system). so its might be an issue that a lot of people have.
the problem is that, there isnt a lot of information online about that engine.

PISTON AND CONNECTING ROD REMOVAL
13) The crankcase is secured by thirteen 13 mm cap screws (13a) . The release order has an unusual sequence: first the tips are released (one on the flywheel side and two on the distribution side), then the screws on the intake side and, finally, the ones on the exhaust side (13b) . Remove the crankcase gasket with the sub-block. Upon assembly, the tightening sequence is the reverse, with a torque of 31 Nm.

HEAD REMOVAL
7) The cylinder head is secured to the engine block by twelve bolts. There are two smaller screws, 13 mm head, at the end in the sync region (7a) , which must be loosened first (at assembly: 30 Nm). The remaining ten screws (7b) have a 15 mm head (at assembly, torque in three steps: 40 Nm + 90° angular + 90° angular). The tightening order is the inverse of the release order (7c) . Remove the head (7d) .

Direct injection?
As far as I know only the 1.3 l firefly engine uses direct injection in fiats lineup

The e torque engine is quite only if be very surprised if it was direct injection

that is a very usefull source, thank you for that:worship::worship:.
and yeah, you'r right, it isn't a direct injection system.
