500X got another fault

One of many faults this car has had, I have the engine management light on and the drive mode selector not working on my 66 reg 1.6 diesel Cross. I plugged in my obd code reader and it is a faulty crankshaft position/cam shaft position sensor faulty so the engine feels sluggish as well. The dealer says itís not a common fault and not sure if itís covered yet on my extended warranty. For a three year old car itís a joke how much itís been in for repair from me getting it at 18 months old.
Repairs so far:
1)New clutch assembly and master cylinder
2)Near side drip link
3) two new media units
4) rear washer pump
5) wheel arch lining
6) window regulator (which didnít fix the fault so waited a year for Fiat HQ to come back with a fix)
7)external temperature sensor replaced
8)kept over night to charge for stop/start fix
And Iím sure Iíve missed a few other repairs.
Iíve never known a car like this requiring so many repairs. Has anyone else had such high quantity of faults with their 500x?

500X got another fault

I've had some very expensive repairs under the warranty, it has cost Fiat well into 5 figures, but not that number

Thermostat housing gasket - WAY more expensive than it sounds, and took 10 days

4 new Injectors

New Common Rail Assmembly

New boot lock assembly

New sensor in door handle

Plus the external temperature sensor decided to wait until the warranty ran out before it let go.

Crikey - won't make you feel any better but we've had ours a few years now and over 30k and all that's gone wrong really that I would class as a factory issue is the rear tailgate handle was broken but we picked that up on purchase and it was replaced under warranty. Yours sound like Friday cars as we used to say (I worked on the Peugeot Talbot line mid 80's at Ryton and they were definitely such a thing!) Hope you get sorted.

To be fair, the thermostat gasket can happen to any car, it wasn't serious, but to get to it the front bodywork and aircon unit have to come off. Seriously. Then, because it was a new design, they didn't have the right tools or gas. The Injectors and Common Rail were replaced to try and resolve one of those faults that just don't show up. It turned out to be a sensor sending the wrong information, but because it was sending SOME info it didn't show up as faulty. A hugely expensive (for Fiat) repair to replace a 5 quid sensor. Since that was resolved I have been immensely happy with it, and would definitely have replaced it with another if Fiat still sold the same spec model.
